Assurance of Faith vs. "Why hast Thou forsaken me?"

This is the condensed version of the other thread(s) regarding Alcoholics Anonymous. Condensed because after much long winded threads of my thinking out loud here, finally may have answered a bit of the mystery.
That is, the AA groups and their controlling, manipulative members purporting to espouse the only true brand of AA--that they're message is the only real AA:
Their emphasis on assurance of faith ("attraction not promotion") is juxtaposed with Jesus on the Cross:
"Why hast Thou forsaken me?
Even Jesus had doubts about His being "God conscious".
