they lay off and then you tell us you have some kind of fund somewhere to bring back people.

Our school is flat broke...oh, you know what?...we could use that HUGE pot of cash that we stowed away for a rainy day...that might work, might it not?

How about they just raise taxes. New Yorkers already pay some of the highest taxes in the country...time to pile on some more.

Isn't it illegal to be short on liquid cash for paid time off? I thought it was.

Teachers Salaries and their union contracts are like legal ponzi schemes - the teachers, benefits, retirements, and salaries will bankrupt the Long Island education system in few years to come. School districts relied on assistance, from Albany thats no longer available and they realize now we can's afford to pay these over the top and enormous salaries to teachers. Schools are being combined, class sizes made larger, and programs cut but teachers will get large raises every year while schools suffer and education takes a hit on Long Island.
