Boy's legs fractured in Islip Terrace hit-and-run

A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized with fractures to both legs Monday after he was struck by a van in a hit-and-run while riding his bicycle in Islip Terrace, police said.

He may not feel very lucky but a similar accident occured many years ago with fatal results. But that driver was not a coward and stopped to try to help. Let's find this monster!

The driver of the van is a piece of schitt. The part I don’t understand about this is where he was riding across a walking bridge. Is it for walking or riding and would things have been different had he been walking across it?

Pretty pitiful....over the past several years it seems that stop signs and red lites are treated as "a suggestion you may want to consider slowing down." You see this all the time now. I hope they catch this guy and revoke his license...if he even has one. Hope the little boy is OK!

No doubt it was an illegal alien driving without a license, an unregistered van with 16 other illegal sitting on the floor of the van. And then people wonder why Americans say get this trash out of OUR Country!!

This is the reason you should have allowed the "illegals" to get NY drivers licenses. If they had licenses they would be more inclined to stop, they would have to pass a driving test, could be required to read / take the test in english, and they would be required to have insurance.

OK, so we should give "illegals" (who are criminals, by the way) drivers licenses so that they can drive insanely and then get locked up so that taxpayers can pay for their free ride in jail? While we are at it, why don't we give people who get arrested for illegal gun possession gun licenses so that we don't have to arrest them. That said according to the police there was an adult witness, that leads me to beleive that this adult was white seeing that Islip Terrace is predominatly white, so why did that person not come forward, even further if it is a working van then where is the individual whom this piece of garbage driving the van that left that little boy laying in the street that was working on someones home doing construction not come forward.Don't assume jerk it was illegals having to eat crow with the feathers may choke you. Not all american citizens wait for the police,some run away and tell mom and dad, and the parents try to cover up the crime.Or are you forgetting the jerk that killed the student at UConn last year, and had his friends try and lie for him.
