Diamondhead had to apply to the State to allow un-licenced golf cart on their street. Mayor orders his police to allow it. Doesn't seem fair.No plates, no insurance. Why do I have to have both on my small Car? I don't leave the city

Eddie i own a cart the one that has all the lights, turn signals, horn windshield and everything else including a plate and insurance. I have tolked to the police chief about 10 months ago, and i attended a counsel meeting were he proposed and drafted a city ordinances that covered golf carts. He told the council members that it is up to the city to pass ordinances for the carts on city streets, and the state does not govern the regular golf carts. He had all the laws and people he talked to, but most of all he talked about all the carts running around the city operated by kids on the streets. he continued to explain the dangers and he was inturupted several times by the council members and they told him they were not passing it, and to find out what other cities are doing to handle it, he got alittle pissed and told them we are our own city and do not need to rely on others to make our rules. it was obious they didnt want to make their friends mad by making them follow a new law concerning their golf carts. I was there and its recorded on the minutes and so this time its not the mayor he backed the chief but the council crawled away just like they did when a law banning the sale of that synthic pot was cut down by them. And i pay my fees to operate my cart you are right everyone should, we all need to go the chiefs office and file a request he brings it up again to the council

I thought that also, but i did check with the state and was told that any thing that goes 25mph or lower is a slow moving vehicle and can not operate on any state road or highway. The cities have to make their own rules on were they can operate. I still think we need to have some rules for them.

Daily Horoscope for May 24

Libra

This is a fantastic day for using your brain with precision and accuracy. For instance, it's great for filling in a complicated form or going through some complex paperwork because you'll find it easy to concentrate on what you're doing. It's especially good for paying attention to the sort of finicky details that you normally aren't interested in but which are right up your street.
