Why Pleasant Hill and not N. Concord, which takes maybe 20 minutes to get there?

This is a great idea. This is the next best thing to having BART run hrough Benicia or Vallejo itself.

Vallejo transit now have two routes to BART --#80 to El Cerrito and #70 to Pleasant Hill & Walnut Creek. No excuse now for people to not take advantage of public transportation.

"I think the new route gives a much more advantage to those who uses public transportation. With the exception of Benicia Breeze route 75, which will no longer be available to those in the city of benicia is a concern for me."

As a CTAC member I heard of this service being taken over by Vallejo Transit. Actually I thought that we were going to discuss this issue at a meeting first before making it official. Guess not! Nice to read the four positive comments about the new service though. Yes it will require abit of twiking. But it does offer transit dependant and commuters more opportunities!

I phoned Vallejo Transit today and they flatly denied that any new Route # 70 will be starting in April.

In-City Bus Riders may Avoid fare Hike, For Now
by Rachel Raskin-Zrihen, Times-Herald Staff Writer
March 25th, 2008 (print edition)

"Several cost-saving and revenue-producing measures are being considered, Odom Ford said. One is the new Route 70, which will take passengers between Vallejo and Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek, starting April 6, she said. Transportation officials are working with Walnut Creek employers on creating an incentive for their employees to ride the bus, Odom Ford said."

That Vallejo Transit dispatcher doesn't know anything, and didn't read the paper. In fact, if that dispatcher had attended the CTAC meeting on Monday night, he/she would have had all the facts.
