If you are having trouble getting a claim paid and the insurance company is not calling you back. Look in the yellow pages for the phone number of your state's Insurance Commissioner's office. Call the commissioner's office and file a complaint. They will investagate. It could mean a fine for the insurance company. At the very least they will have to pay attention to you. Good Luck.

As a consumer when you are victimized by an insurance company you should put a complaint against the insurance company thru the Department of Insurance of your state.
If the state does not hear of the complaints they the insurance companies will continue to get away with not paying.
In many cases the state board of insurance is on the side of the consumer. Try it!

You should go thru you own insurance company and let them deal with the other parties insurance company. Your insurance pays for everything and gets paid from the other company without you having to pay anything more than your deductible.

you're an idiot for not being fully insured on your own policy with uninsured motorist coverage! it's not bristol west's fault that the driver that hit you had not payed on his policy and it in turn was cancelled.

I think we should file a class lawsuit against this BRISTOL WEST INSURANCE. I got in an auto accident with this insurance co and Bristol told me that the policy was cancelled before the accident! It sounds like a modus operandi to me. I'm thinking they have this "cancellation paper" ready to be pulled out anytime at their convenience. Good for you guys at least you got some adjuster come and see your car. Me- Nothing-NADA! Zeth! MY chest is still painful after hitting the steering wheel and I don't know what to do. Just continue praying for a miracle.

i got into accident it was not my fault the guy who hitpulled out of a drive way right into me i had a polce report saying it was not my fault. bristol west the guy who hit did not have insurance through them at the time that he purchased them the same day and it was after the accident had happened. and to top it all off i had insuance through them as well liabilty only and it did not cover because i did not have non insured motorist on my policly so i had a jusked car that i had to pay for some junk yard to tow away and i was unable to purchase a new car at the time so i was screwed for months.
If he didn't have insurance at the time, and you chose not to have enough coverage, how is this Bristol West's fault?

Noble,

Stop wasting other peoples valuable time on the internet, and get back to "your" Bristol West Insurance office, and get some of these unpaid claims paid out. These people have a right to complain about being roughed up by "your" companies unprofessional manner. Get off of the golf course, and get back from vacation, and own up to "Your" responsibilities.

That's what you get for trying to save a few bucks and go with an insurance company that 99.99999 percent of the population has never heard of. You get what you pay for!

Now that I have read this, I am nervous about my claim being completed. So far so good. Bristol send out an adjuster immediately, and they sent payment for the repairs while also setting up a loaner car. Still have the medical side to finish though. Maybe makes a difference when you get hit by one of their insured and the accident is witnesses by a police officer.
