Should Bay City get a City Manager?

IMO, absolutely! it's not fair to ask a politician/leader to be a manager. Those two roles require completely different and often conflicting skill sets.
Hiring a city manager to handle the day-to-day operations of the city (fixing potholes, picking up trash, maintaining the parks) frees up the Mayor to do what s/he was elected to do - run the city! Look at the big picture and develop long and short terms goals that will move the city and it's citizens forward. Forge bonds with other officials and business leaders to promote the economy and well-being of Bay City.

Straight up KenBob. You are right on point. We can't roll the dice every three years on who may or may not have the skill set to actually run the daily business without a political motive. Get a city manager and let the mayor and council make policy, set the tax rate, manage the money, etc. This is a no brainer. Tell your voting friends.
