What about the baseball state champions in baseball (1958 or 59 or so) and the 1963 team? And, what about the 1965 stae basketball champs?
When it was all said and don, Joe McMasters was the best and no one has been bettwe since. He just lived in a different time than Wally Moon. Remember, Wally Moon moved to Trumann and claimed that as his hometown when he went to the Big Leagues! Guess he was embarassed of Bay.

Not to discredit Tim but Wally went on to the Cardinals & Joel is listed a few times in the
Arkansas High School Althletic record book. Joel has records that are still showing in the current books. He may not be the current record holder right now but is still listed within the top 10. I'd say that's some pretty good #'s. Kinda hard to compare others to that. Below is the link to the record book.

I agree, but Tim was an all around better player on and off the court. He can still run circles around kids in school today. Can Joel do the same? I don't think so.

Well, no Joe can't play like he did 40 something years ago. And, he is approximately 20 years older than Tim.

But, for most good Bay athletes, one must admit, if they'd played with the right mix of players, they could have been GREAT.

Another good player in multiple sports was Larry Taylor, who was better than any of his younger brothers but just not with the right teammates.

Another good one: Jerry Barnes who was the State MVP of the state championship baseball team in 1963. That was almost a forgotten championship because of the tragedy of the loss of a player due to an accident in the game. Jerry never received the accolades he deserved because of the sorrow surrounding the games.

Joel McMasters was all about Joel McMasters as he still is today. You have to be a team player to be a good player, and that he wasn't.

If we are talking about basketball then you will have to throw Forest Grisham, Chirs Simmons, James McMasters and Brandon Thomas. They all had good careers.

I do agree with Lanky, Saundra Goad was probably the absolute best girls at basketball and was good at all other sports.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Scorpio

Something that you've always taken for granted or believed implicitly could have a big question mark hanging over it during the next few weeks. The more entrenched your views are about this, the more difficult it will be to accept that perhaps it's time for a change of opinion or, at the very least, a revaluation of what you think. Mercury turns retro in your house of communications, so do your best to be open-minded now.
