Is anyone else sick of all the Homecoming crap. Who is in charge of this? Kids were wearing underwear over their clothes and throwing underwear at other kids performing in the air show. Low class. The cheerleaders looked kinda rough in their performance and one hit her head when they let her fall. No schools this week, just activities. What a joke! Does anyone ever check up on what is going on at the school on a day to day basis? I hear the kids are in charge because the admin won't do anything. Chaos.

doesn't sound any different than any other homecoming week, does it? doesn't it make you want to go back again? If the kids playing with panties is the worst thing going on (although I doubt it is) then I really don't think Bay has anything to worry about. |

You obviously have no children attending Bay. If you did you would have heard about the lack of discipline and the focus on athletics. Select students, esp. ball players, can pretty much do what they want while others are constantly bullied and threatened, even by the admin. Homecoming was just the culmination of several years of no contorl on the part of the admin and no back up for the teachers. several of the teachers are looking for other jobs because they are so stressed out. Parents! Wake up and do something about this before we lose the school. Students are transferring out on a regular basis and numbers are down. Good kids don't want to be here because the bad minority is in control.

Although I have heard pretty much what Justice said in entry #3, the Homecoming Court and ceremony was well done last night. The boys and girls teams looked appropriate and all of the students seemed well-behaved. Some years it has been a mess of confusion. For that, the job was well done. Whomever organized it did well and the flowers were nice and prettier than I have ever seen.

Homecoming is always a time for fun. Kids are just as stressed out as the teachers. There is constant pressure to perform academically and athletically. I can also tell you that ball players and cheerleaders also get bullied. It is everywhere and the administration cannot protect every child all the time. Parents should be aware of the things that go on in their childs life and address it with the school or police department if needed.
Bay is an execellent school. If you want to make a difference, volunteer. You may be pleasantly surprised. |

(I don't think you got the sarcasm in my previous post, so I will be more direct this time. Just for you.) Athletics have always been the only thing that anyone cares about, at least on the surface. That is all the community cares about, how the ball teams are going to do this year. But when those students get to college and drop out in their first semester because the instructors don't hand out grades quite as easily as they do in high school, and have to start raising a family at a young age or have to make those lifestyle choices that they aren't ready to make and the kids have to try to get real jobs in a tough economy, I seriously doubt they will look back and say "I shouldn't have been throwing those panties during Homecoming week, I should have been studying more." |

I know you were responding to someone else. However, I think you have a good perspective of BHS and the goals of many students, parents, and, unfortunately, some teachers. Much of it is result of the administration nd board being sports-minded with little academic orientation. It is pretty much one big ball game and has been for many years. That is a shame. But, in spite of it all, many very successful individuals have graduated from BHS. Don't give up. |

its was just 1 week of homecoming every year they have it. And if you don't like the students having a little fun then don't show up to it and watch go home. By the way who invited you to the airshow anyway!

well i have been told of alot of crap going on in the school, if you wish to turn your head and not see it go ahead i will not!!!I have been told kids being aloud by teachers and staff to sell sodas to other kid .Teachers and staff watching while kids fight, kids being aloud to dip at school,and alot of the kids brag about doing drugs in class with the teachers hearing.we need teachers and staff to stand up for the kids that want to learn and go on to collage.we need a cop at the school at all times!!
|
||||
"brag"ing about doing drugs is one thing, actually using is another. What I mean is the ones I would worry about are the ones that don't use, then put these "braggers" on a pedastal, go out and try to be like them and really mess up their good, young lives. |

i go 2 school at bay and kids do not dip 3 got caught yeterday 1 got suspended the other 2 got paddleings...and i have never seen teachers watch kids fight... and go to any school and u will see kids braggin bout drugs so seriously go fing something else to get ur pussy wet about.... or move no one likes a griping bitch anyway. |

this is to get a life ,3 kids got suspended not one , the music teacher is the one who has been letting them dip. they got cought by a different teacher, that is the only reason they got in trouble ,they have been dipping for a while!!if you havent seen teachers letting kids fight maby you need glasses ,this has happened twice so far this year.AND another thing with the nasty things you have said it shows what kind of person you are you need to grow up talking trash just makes you look stupid!!!

Ok, this began as a bit of digust about the homecoming activities. Now it has deteriorated to name-calling about totally unrelated matters. Yes three students werer caught dipping and one was suspended because it was his second offense. The other two were paddled and several other students were checked that day. Teachers and staff do not watch fights, they break them up, which sometimes requires grown men to separate the bigger boys when they are very violent. During one recent altercation a young coach leapt over a table in the commons to stop one boy from attacking another from behind. Just so you know, the teachers who work at BHS are dedicated to education, if they were not, they would go where they could get better pay and some back up on the discipline. BHS is a great school and the kids are wonderful. They sometimes lack guidance and parental support, but the majority want more than a minimum wage job. The teachers and the good kids and parents keep trying, but some of those kids have transferred to other schools and more are leaving regularly. If BHS wants to survive, change in the way the admin functions is needed and yes basketball and other athletics will always be no. 1, but no school, no athletics!
