How do you think the scrimmage went?

We still need to be able to run the ball and stop the run which we struggled with. Did ok with a lot of new players, but still have a long way to go.

I agree. On offense, no run guys. We constantly had 5 lineman trying to block a 6 man front. We need a FB/TE in some sets. The receivers looked good, specially 84,15,11,8. On deffense, the dl and lb's struggled. De and db's looked decent. In general, They have a long way to go. Tackling needs to improve.

Wonder what Bobby thinks now that Bailey Phillips, Jared Case, Dylan Hedgecoth, Peyton Land and maybe soon Cody D are playing football. I think three freshman basketball players are playing football.

I haven't seen Dylan on the football field as of yet. According to the football players, it is doubtful Cody D. will play. I did hear through the grapevine that Bobby McWilliams tried for an hour and a half to talk Jared out of playing, thankfully without success. Haven't heard if he has tried talking to Bailey or Peyton. I didn't play football much less basketball but is seems to me that by playing football, it will only help strengthen these boys in many areas. There are 2 serarate practices for football this summer, 7-8:30am and 4-5:30pm, I believe. The boys are only required to go to one of those practices. I don't think that will effect basketball practices so Bobby needs to quit acting like a spoiled child that doesn't want to share his toys. These are high school boys that deserve to have the whole "high school experiences". Most won't play football or basketball after graduation so let them play what they want to play instead of trying to bully or threaten them with "losing their spot".

You have got some really talented players. We arent a big school and we don't have much but we have do have a love of football. There are some really great juniors that will lead this team. Coach Ben will take care of the no shows. York, Dilldine, Collier, Key and Ely are dedicated and are going to dominate. They are a tight group and I feel that they are going to do pretty well this year. The parents need to show more support but it is what it is. Just support the team and stop the bickering. It's about the kids.

5-5 at worst, 7-3 at best. Untill u get at least 15 or more seniors that have played all 4 years, and same numbers in Jr class, can't compete with Smith Co or LA. Best of luck this year!

So far so good. Going into a two week dead period then things will take off. Should be good in the line this year. Key is, can we run the ball and stop the run? Didn't show much improvement this spring in that area, so wre will see.

I think Upperman is the up and coming football program in Putnam Co. 71 kids on the JR High team at Cornerstone. They have a huge freshman class. The Jr class has great lineman with Ely, Collier, Key, Davis averging about 6'2, 275 and a sophopmore lineman around 6'6. They have the best overall football player in the county in Jr Tyler York 6'2 190, passed for 2600 yards and rushed for 750. Also, the Sauceman kid is like 6'5 255 and getting looks at DE from D-1 schools. With the way the districts look to be realined, I would think Upperman is the place to be in football the next 2-4 years.

Upperman is building a great program. The QB is Connor York and he is closer to 170 but still a great player. Bees still have to play the SC Owls in the new alignment but their junior class has a lot of heart and are looking to have a great last two years.

Passing camps start today and ful pad are just a couple weeks away. Put up or shut up time. I expect 6-4 or higher this year with all the hard work the players and coaches have put in. Can't wait.
