"People like me"? How so? By not tresspassing? By not destroying other peoples property?

Not trying to be sarcastic, but it doesn't matter who owns the land. People that own land down there have been fighting to keep people out for ages. It's private property that has treated like a public recreation area. If I owned land down there, I wouldn't want people off roading on it either. With it being private property, the land owners are well with-in their rights to demand that people stay out.

Well I am well aware that they property down there is privately owned. I have a mortgage payment every month that reminds me. Would it be great to allow the teenagers a place to go hang out, a place for people to go remember their childhood, a place to cool off without going to the lake, sure. However, let me tell you what is not great. The trash that is left there every weekend people sneak down there. The beer bottles, trash and needles that we find down there all the time. The gun shots that go off while our children play on our property. So unfourtanely, like many other things bad people ruin it for everyone. To comment on others that say "They don't own the creek, technically your right. However, no one stays just on the creek, NO ONE. If you made it to the waterfall you had to be on someones land. You will get a tresspassing ticket I assure you. So unless you would be a fan of all the landowners coming and camping in your backyard and tearing up your land while we are there and shooting guns adn drugs while your kids sleep or are outside playign in your yard. Then please allow us to have ours to enjoy without that.

To be quite frank, legally they own their half of the creek. If you go to the county records office and check the deeds, all owners of the land own to the center of the creek. To break this down, there could be several owners of this creek. Whenever your deed calls for land around the creek your deed will specifically say to the center of it. So therefore, when you do go to the creek you ARE TRESPASSING. Where the problem lies is that teenagers as well as adults go there and leave trash, start fires (one fire 5 years ago burnt several acres of someone's land), shoot guns, and drive jeeps and 4-wheelers which bother the people above the creek. I think that people should be thankful that the landowners told police just to warn those trespassing instead of the fine the county suggested.

Yes your not supposed to be down there anymore.. the cops watch the area and will write you a ticket for being down there!
Like the cops in Baxter have nothing to do but watch a piece of property and make sure no one is on it, just because a Hasbeen Cornerstone teacher owns it? Better get over that on teacher cuz here I come!!!!!!!!!!

So sad. :( I grew up on that road and use to love to walk down there. But even then, I remember picking up trash because some of the older 'kids' would leave a mess. It's such a gorgeous area and I don't get why people can't be respectful of that. Once again, it's a matter of the stupid (and selfish) ruining it for everyone else. All it would've taken is people doing the right thing and NOT tearing things up, NOT littering, and NOT shooting off firearms. THEN people could've still gone down there to hike and enjoy.

You should really choose a more appropriate name like "Total Loser", because everyone that read what you wrote can most assuredly tell that you possess absolutely NO "star" qualities. BTW, it's not just the Baxter cops, the County goes down quite frequently. You are right, they can't be there all the time, but you never know when it's just not going to be your lucky day!
