Dollar General Store

What has happened to the Dollar Store in Baxter. I have noticed they are often out of certain items. Several times over the past couple of months I have went in there to pick up a few things and there wouldnt be any of the items. That never use to happen. Does anyone know why? I was really impressed when they changed the layout but what good is that if they dont keep the shelves stocked? I have asked and they wouldnt have the items even in the store room.

Same thing happened to me. I went in there just to pick up diet cokes and bread. They were out.

I think it has something to do with new management. Because that never happened when that little girl was there. I don't know who the new one is because everytime I've ask to speak to her to complain, she's never there.

do you think dollar stores are ever keep the store well stocked well no i will tell you thay cause thay nevr can got people who dose not want to do anything but set on there butts

I dunno about the stock but I get tired of the begging for everything. For example literacy money, buying cakes, gloves, and once they even begged for one of the employees to go to Daytona. There was a cashier there a while back that just dropped my change in the literacy fund without even asking. He is gone now thank goodness as I am poor and usually have to count my change out to buy what I need.

Who is that manager? She is rude and hateful to the workers. I've heard her, what little time she is there. U shouldn't say things to workers in front of customers. I know enough to know that.

First, its not the fault of the employees they have to beg. They are made to do that by DG management. If they fail to do so they can get written up. They dont like having to ask people for their money but they are doing what they are told.
I've found the girls who work there to be very nice, they are just doing their jobs when they ask you for your change.

Second its the managers fault if they dont have enough products like Coke or Pepsi. Its up to the manager how much of that they keep in stock. If its in the stockroom the girls will stock the shelves.

Third, I agree the manager should never reprimand employees in front of customers.

Yes Dg employees are ask to ask the customers for their change, for the literacy fund. Yes the clerks are ask to suggestive sell at the register. Now as far as the Manager goes she is a very good manager, she is fair and does not treat the employees bad.
And the pepsi and coke come from an outside vendor... ie pepsi/coke. They run the store 2 times a week, and yes the manager tells the pepsi/coke reps to bring in enough to keep her shelves full and they do bring more but the bring in the more they sell. This is NOT the managers fault.

first it is the managers fault if they run out of pepsi, coke they should keep enough so they won't run out, they control how much is brought in ---not the vendors. and if u think the manager is that great -why don't u ask some of the workers. i'm in there 3 or 4 times a week. i hear plenty. and these 2 products was never empty before she came there.

Well the manager is a good manager, she has taken that store to a higher level, I hear sales are up, the store looks great. I too shop in that store and have for 4 or 5 years and in my opinion the store is better right now than it has ever been.

Well I think the Baxter DG sucks big lemons nowadays. You have to stand in long lines and they got other registers with no one running them and the manager is never there. I say go to Baxter Bi-Rite, at least they will have Coke or Pepsi there and you wont be stuck in line all day.

I don't think the employs are neccessarly to blame but the new corprate owners the staff can get a better deal at other stores, even with employ discount they about as much as the public and alot more than they did before the change over and rumor has it prices are going up again

they are out of stuff quite a bit. but there is more and more of us buying the cheap stuff so that is why.
