Whatever happened with the case of the three supposedly accidental drownings in the little four foot deep pond ? Is it just me or does it seem like that case was just sort of swept under the rug ? I for one would like answers. I loved Debbie and I knew her well enough to know that there is no way she accidentally drowned out there that day. We used to swim across the river together back when it actually had water in it and she was an excellent swimmer. I'd like some real answers , am I the only one ?

There are MANY things that are going to start crawling out from under the rocks when/if a new sheriff is elected soon.

Rumor has it, a man named (Removed Intentionally) said he'd run for sheriff and the first thing he'd do if he gets elected is make SURE that ALL of the "covered up" and "Hush-Hush'd" wrong-doings in Hazlehurst were brought to the surface, STARTING with the murder of a beautiful young girl back in 1990.

I would love to know who the someone is and if that person was ever questioned by the police? I can't believe that this has gone on for this long and no one in that small town will speak up for her. Please someone out there, let her family have peace and help bring her murder to justice!

I agree. If it had been someone with lots of political power or lots of money, this would have been solved. It has been swept under the rug.

You are correct - but, someone with political power and/or money could have had this whole sordid case "swept under the rug".

Agree?

Yes the drownings were terrible. People need to stop and think about the families and all the pain and suffering they are still going thru. It was a tragedy that day and the families still have to live with that. To each and every family member my heart goes out to you because I know you have so many unanswered questions. No matter what addictions or faults these individuals may have had they still were loved by their family members. My heart goes out to these families because of all the questions they have that have not been answered. Keep the determination to get to the bottom of it. Fight for the answers for your passed loved ones. Do whatever you have to do to get the answers that you need. These families need closure and they do not have it. SO keep to the task at hand and get your answers. Stay strong and always remember your loved ones even though their problems they had a heart and soul and loved their families also. Keep up your fight Get to the bottom of it so you will have peace of mind and closure. In my hearfelt prayers.

The murders are solved!!! The GBI said they were accidental drownings.....that closed that case....
Beats me why the man that drowned was left at the scene of the "murder" drownings..should have been taken in for questions and not left there to accidently get murdered too!

It takes a bunch of idiots to say that these were "Accidental" and they expect the family to just settle for it. But what else can the community and family do?

First thing the man's family needs to file suit or something on the county for not taking him in and saving his life! That to me is questionable enough....if I was on a jury I would find them GUILTY of that! The women I do not know....I am still pondering......

Well I do know Debra very well and i would bet my life that she would never drown in that pond. It was where she lived. All her time was spent at that pond. Fishing, swimming, etc. She was a very physically strong woman. I know that it had to take a hell of a person(s) to drown her if that was the real cause of death. She didnt fall off a float and drown.

I don't think it was an accident either. I think it had something to do with all that dope they were doing at the lake.
