You know, sometimes things happen that people don't know about. You don't have to be arrested or convicted in a court of law to be guilty.

He may not be quilty of this accusation but I can tell you that he is guilty of "attempted actions" against another, he was caught and it was handled, personally.

Not hearsay, not a rumor, pure fact.....

I am glad that he finally got caught. This has been going on for years. If you are a female all you have to do is flirt with him and no TICKET. I know how he is. Its so funny to me that these cops think a badge can protect them. NOT forever. There are some good cops here but the bad ones make it hard for the ones who do CARE and are fair.

Whatever..Sounds like to me you need to be talking to God Because wether he's guilty or not he's somebody's son,brother,uncle,etc and no one wins in a situation like this neither families.So instead of talking you all should be praying and not worrying about payback.Cause you never know what will happen in the future.And God loves everyone and I thank God that He loves us no matter because people here on earth judge and talk and dont care who's feelings they hurt.

such a wide variety of opinions on here. like I said before I have known Richard for many many years and I still find it hard to believe that he would do something like this. and yes I think i know Richard pretty well, some of u are right It's no secret that Richard loves the women,but come on not kids. the final remark I will make on this is simply if He has done this awful task and is found guilty then he should be punished, friend or not, but if he is not guilty, I feel Appling county owes him an apology for the harsh words. He has dediated most of his life to keeping the citizens of this county safe and it seems alot of you have already turned on him like a pack of dogs, and you call yourselves Christians. I dont think thats the way christians are suppose to treat their Brother. Is it? Innocent until proven Guilty! Remember that!

To Citizen,If this happen to one of my family members it would be terrible.But you need to think of both families here.No one deserves to be trashed and if he is guilty trust me he will get his punshment even if it is not here on earth.God will judge us all one day and we are to love even those that do wrong.Not tear them down.Cause God loves unconditionally.And to what if this didnt happen.Was any of us there?

First of all, I am family. What happened to the saying, "Innocent until proven guilty"? Am I correct in thinking that if they had the "goods" on him that he would have already been arrested? The problem with that remains is that there isn't any proof NOR EVIDENCE, and it will be interesting to see how that plays out...Remember people there are two sides to EVERY story and if you "knew" the accusations that he was accused of and the source of those accusations, then you would not be casting judgement against him and getting on Topix to trash him.

Well let me say this...the source of the accusations are a good family too....I have had things said to me be Richard that were not a proper nature from a lawman....but I am 55...and I just over looked it....he likes women I am sure, but children is still questionable in my mind....
he was a lawman for God sakes... read the news....hardly any of them are what they are supposed to be!

Hey Tazi I to know Richard and if you know him he's just that way.He flirted with everyone and didnt mean a thing by it.Com e on a kid...And lawman are human too.I dont know of one of them here that can call the kettle black.They all have skeletons..And your right they are a good family too and everyone needs to let up on both families. First of all, he is MY FAMILY. THE GRIFFINS ARE MY FAMILY. We are good people and I dont know of a SINGLE person in Baxley that hasnt screwed up. If you would all read the BIBLE, it says "Judge not lest thou be judged". So all of you who "know" that he is such a pervert, please tell me ONE COP that is not. And I hope that this never happens to anyone else"s family, because the way that town is....there is no trial.....EVERYONE IS GUILTY. I mean really?? What is not being mentioned here is the fact that this man was FIRED! Not placed on paid/unpaid leave which is standard procedure. This alone points to only two possible avenues. He admitted his guilt or the evidence is so strong that there is no doubt this incident occured.
