Why is it that you have to make a visit to the ER for an emergency and the people working there act as if you are there for a leisure trip. I have recently had to make a visit for a real emergency and it took way longer than it should have and not one other patient was in there. The nurses and staff in there sounded like they were having a party with all the laughing an carring on they were doing at the nurses station.

Your 1st mistake was going to this emergency room. I would not go there for a splinter.

We have received prompt, professional attention at AHCS ER on our several visits. No complaints.

If you had a problem there, you need to speak up at a hospital board meeting. The meetings times and dates are posted at the hospital several days, as required, before the meetings.

It would be stupid to go to the ER with a splinter so I hope you would not waist the nurses or doctors time for that.

It was my child that was sick....you idiot! And I have a job, medical insurance and I pay my bills. And if you really want to know....I could buy that damn hospital if I wanted to. So before you go assuming Im some low-life trying to get something for free maybe you should get the facts straight. Im actually on your side about the about welfare and scumbags trying to get free healthcare. Obvisouly you had a bad experience in healthcare that has left you jaded, and every person that visits the e.r. is not a drug-seeker. My son had a real emergency or I would not have been there and if it could have waited til I could have taken him to my family doctor believe me I would have. I too have worked in healthcare and I know where you are coming from, but in the future ask the facts before you attack someone with stupidty!

Thank God you quit working in healthcare!! With your dirty mouth and your anger issues, none of the people who require healthcare surely do not need to be one of your patients!!

People should not have to pay for poor quality care and that is what you get at this hospital. There are some really good people that work there but the hospital as a whole is poor quality. I choose to go somewhere else for care.

I have ALWAYS had wonderful care at Appling Health Care be it for my parents, child,or myself. I use the ER for emergencies and have found that the staff there is professional, caring and knowledgable. They take people by the severity of case ,not when you come in.As the parent of a child who has a broken bone it is hard to understand the length of time it's taking for care, but the parent whose child who is having an asthma attact is thankful he was seen first.I for one am so very thankful we have this hospital and I appreciate all they do!!!!!!!

I understand that patients are taken by severity and that's how it should be. But on this particular visit there was no other patient in the E.R. so I feel that my child should have been priority. I have been to the E.R. in the past and I did not have any complaints, but it seems that here lately things have went downhill there. I have spoken to others that had the same complaint with the amount of time of having to wait. Maybe they are under staffed or something???

The amount of wait time at the er has nothing to do with the staff. It depends on how long it takes to run your test. Lab and xray service the entire system not only the er. Just keep that in mind when you bash our hospital because we could not have one at all and then were would you go with your emergency? If you choose not to use Appling Hospital that is your choice but there are some of us that appreciate it being here when we need it!!!!_

I am proud we still have a hospital in this county. You writers should be thankful the county commissioners stepped in last year with funds to keep it open. Yes, my family and I have needed the hospital for emergencies; you never know when you or some of your family need immediate care; they do get you stabilized and transferred to another hospital with specialized care, so don't knock it!! You never know when you may have to eat your words about the "bad hospital and staff!"

I have had good and bad care form the er and hospital..However just think what it could cost you to go out of town for care in the case of a real emergency. My daughter could have lost her life if we didn't have to get her stable and transfered to Savannah..Their not the best by no means..They do really help in the case of a real emergency..Just my thoughts

Appling HEalthcare ER saved my mother when she had a stroke. The staff was professional and certainly knowledgable. If you think 2 hours of waiting is long, be glad you do not have to go to St. Josephs or Memorial in Savannah. The wait there is far beyond that.Try 7 hours. And this is WITH VERY GOOD INSURANCE and not many people in the er at the time. Does Appling County have an Urgent Care or Immediate Care Center? I am asumming It does not since everyone seems to mention/complain about the ER. Just wondering. and I can see both sides of the argument so to speak. People in pain and/or sick can sometimes feel anxious when they have to wait longer than they think they should and they feel they have had a horrible ER experience. However, It takes time for results from labs, etc.,as stated above, and the nurses and/or doctors cannot speed that up. It does take some bit of time for things to process. As for the laughing at the nurses station, I know it might be frustrating to a parent of a sick child, I am a parent of two myself, but I would rather have a happy nurse taking care of me than an angry nurse who might take out her frustrations on me whilest there. Just saying.
