Sadly it's just typical small town church politics. It's rampant among s many churches all over. Human being are so strange sometimes. I find for myself that the more I remove myself from organized religion the more spiritual I actually get.

The man was only saying what happened with him at the church; he was excommunicated for standing up for what he believes, as all Christians should. The church's leader is God, not the pastor; the pastor is to lead the flock, not be the dictator or the CFO; all expenditures (ms) of the church should be noted in detail. He seems to think no one has a brain but him and no questions should be asked. God bless Mr. Graham and Mr. Tyre for doing what is right. I admire them. I tried to delete this comment because the filth on the forums is so awlful, I am ashamed to even have a comment!!! I am sorry I even expressed my opionion on this website!!

well i am someone who is trying to decide where to go to church. this kinda crap is exactly the reason i can't make a choice. My living room as my alter is becoming more and more comforting. NO politics involved when its just GOD and me. Thanks BaxleyCOG for letting me see your true colors.

TO tryingtodecide: Do not let one church's problems keep you out of worship! Just prayer that this church will be blessed and that the members do the right thing. Maybe if you went to this church, you could be the one who made "the just noticable difference" in many lives!!

It's amazing how people can read one side of the story here...What most don't know about the situation is that these men have been causing problems at the church way before the pastor ever went there...One of the individuals already left the church to start a new one and then came back. These men asked to the state leadership to come remove the pastor, and settled on a pastoral preference vote...The pastor recieved closed to 85 percent of the vote...counting votes of people who had not been there in years. After the vote these men tried to say it was rigged. The people of the church were tired of them trying to run off another good pastor and close to 90 people sent letters to the state overseer to remove these men from the church.

It wasn't just between the pastor and these two individuals...It was between them and a church that stood for WHAT WAS RIGHT and was tired of it.

Before you judge, know the entire story!

from what I understand, all the persons wanted was for the pastor to be open about where all of the finances were going, which is understandable. churches should be held accountable for every cent that comes in. and if these two persons were the only problem, then why has attendance dropped so drastically over the past 3 years? just something to think about.

I am a newcomer to the BCOG. I have been attending for almost a year, and I have throughly heard both sides of the argument. I personally feel that this was just the devil trying to ruin the awesome move of God that our church was experiencing, and used things to achieve that...but the enemy is defeated..for God is still God. I love the BCOG, I love our Pastor, I love the people who attend, and more than these, I love my GOD! Pastor Lamar does a wonderful job preaching the word of God, and services over the past month have consisted of great worship, great preaching, and an awesome overflow of the Holy Spirit.

I do not know the whole story, bits and pieces here and there. This I do know, the rant on the radio and in the BNB was completly and totaly ridiculous. He preached in both avenues of media endlessly and topped it off on a 10,000 watt transmitter that he didn't give a d**n what they thought of him!!!!!

It is a imutable fact that the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

Mr. Graham lashed out in wrath, which is a deed of the flesh and not part of the fruit of the Spirit. God's Word says in James, sweet and bitter water do not come forth from the same well.

The Lord said, "ye shall know them by thier fruits"

Just leave it alone truth will reveal itself without our help.

Well, at least Mr. Graham stood up for what he believed and he did not spend his time at home writing on this "waste of time and space" Topix!!

This world needs more people like him who will fight for what they believe. It is called freedom of speech!! One day, when your freedoms are gone, a lot of you would wish you had stood up for your beliefs; you may not be able to express your opionion!! So do something!!--instead of critizing Mr. Graham!!!

@amen: Thank you so much and I agree. Pastor Lee is a great preacher...and a nice person all around.
And @riverrat: No one criticized mr. graham for his opinion, but for the way he went about it, expressed it, and acted.

Pastor Lamar Lee is a great preacher, teacher, and friend...and I think the BCOG should feeled honored to call him one of their own.

I agree. Mr. Graham said that people look at our Church and see how our preacher and his followers are and do not want a part in Christianity...but I believe it is when people see supposed men of God lash out in public that turns them away. A church's business is to be handled in the church...and not to be broadcast in every media outlet.

easy pissy. just set fire to the church, build a new one, and take all the old members out back and put them down like ole' yeller. kidding. its a CHURCH!!! if your fussing about money, you might as well stop. you cant take it with you, and even if you could, im pretty sure they dont sell ice water or anything in hell. the world is going straight down the toilet. i swear...sometimes im ashamed to call myself a human, an american, even sometimes a christian. so to everyone fussing about church money, its supposed to be about the church. make sure when you die they bury you in a speedo or something because its gonna be warm:)
