I just want to know how many people think what happend to Dr. Kauffman was fair and honest. He is the most careing man about his patients I know. He puts his patiests first. He is one of the most intellegent Dr.s I have ever met. I just think someone has a vendeta against him, and it's just crap all the way around. I mean yes he has some things in his past but who doesn't and that has never effected his job. I know from experience because I have used him. I feel that Salem Hospital is lacking right now without him there. I sure hope he is back in business soon. I guess once they tag you they just look for reasons to keep on. Dr Kauffman if you read this I have been a patient of yours and I wish you the best, you will be missed by a whole buch of people, but you hang in there you will be back, I know it.....

I think that there is someone around salem out o get Dr. Kauffman also. I'm a patient of his also. He cares about all his patients. You could be at the hospital anytime day or night and would see him. When you went to ER and he was on call you didn't have to sit and wait 3 hours before he came, like you do with some of the others. I think part of the problem was that patients of other doctors was switching over to him as their doctor and they were out to get him. I will continue using him as soon as he is allowed to open back up.

I am outraged over what happened to Dr. Kauffman. Yes, it is personal and I sure don't hear anything about the other Drs. in this town standing up for him. Dr. Kauffman was not the kind of doctor they are and I think they all resent him and the loyalty among his patients. I am asking everyone to do what I have done, go to the website of the Arkansas Medical Board and send them an email, then go to the Governor's website and send him and email and tell them how badly we think this Dr. has been treated and how the community is suffering over it. Please. Thanks.

what is web address that everyone needs to go to in order to complain. dr. kauffman is very loyal to his patients. the other doctors around most likely does what kauffman does they just don't get caught. what he does on his own time is his business no one elses.

Do you really want someone who abuses drugs to be the doctor on call that is suppose to save your life? No they shouldn't have posted a front page spread about it in the local paper, but you can't abuse drugs and be professional. From what everyone says he sounds like a nice man and I'm sure he is, but that's just not ethical. And as far as "what he does on his own time is his business and no one elses", if you've ever known a drug abuser, they do it every chance they get. Hopefully things will change and he can turn this around, there's always hope.

I have worked with Dr.Kauffman in the ER and FCH. He is the most intelligent MD's is Salem, He treats all his patients with dignity and true concern,He has saved many lives here. This man recieved accomdations from the president of the USA for having the highest ever score on the medical board exams. He was not a dope head. Doctors are monitored,we all take OTC medications. Doctors do have the right to get sick! Dr.Kauffman has also taken care of my husband and myself. We wouldn't have it any other way. No he not a dope subscribor to patients. Those who usually don't like him,are because he didn't give them the drugs they wanted!FCH is hurting because he's not there,he kept the hospital census up,which kept some in jobs.

I want to tell u my story. I walked into Salem er one night so weak I couldn't walk, Dr. Kauffman was the dr. He immeditaly admited me, my blood count was nearley nothing. he diden't care about money he cared about me. He did a scope of my stomach, and found out the blood loss was comming from there. It was due to a medication I was takeing called celebrex which I was takeing for a condition called fibromialgia. Yes I let him do the scope on my stomach. I trusted him to put me to sleep. He is a wonderful dr, he knows what he is doing, nad if it wasn't for him I don't know what would have happend. I had to have a blood tranfusion, because I had lost so much blood. I also diden't have any insurance and that diden't matter to him. What mattered was my health and thats how he is. He is a very intellgent man and the hospital is doing it's patients an injustice by him not being there. Hang in there Dr. Kauffman remember what goes around goes around. Sounds like alot of jealousy in the er.

I too was taken to the hospital double over. He was right their getting me set up in a room. I told him what was wrong he took some blood and was back within 5 min. and knew what was wrong with me. I had my condition for over 20 year's doctors in 3 different states within that 20 year's didn't know what was wrong with me and he knew immediately. He said he was admitting me, I told him I couldn't do that because I had just lost my job and had no insurance. It was like he didn't hear anything I said and admitted me. He came to the hospital to check on me everyday for the four days I was hospitalized. He sent me to a specialist to do the surgery in MH. When I had Surgery 10 days later the surgeon told me that I would be staying as least another 3 days because my condition was so bad that I could have died during surgery if I had of waited any longer to take care of it. If it weren't for Dr. Kaufman I wouldn't be spending my time enjoying the grandchildren. Good luck Doc, hope to see you back where you belong soon.

What you all seem to be ignoring is the fact that he is a drug abuser and this has been proven time and time again, what does it take? Killing someone while under the influence? This is possible, and btw, doctors get paid very well to do what they do, lets not forget the compensation, it isn't like he did these things out of charity. Let's just hope he gets rehabilitated and everyone doesn't continue to blast those who tell what he has done.... Who wants a drug addict operating on them? That, my friend is insane..

Dr. Kauffman is not a drug addict! He has had many accusations made against him that have been proven to be false. Take the incident at Cherokee Village Hospital for example. Dr. Kauffman may appear to be a little haughty to the other Drs. but that is because he is brillant and dedicated to his patients. He does not doctor for the money, far from it, ask anyone who has ever worked for him. As a poor under-insured patient, he has given me lots of free medical care and has given me the best care possible. When I needed hospitalization, insurance or resources were never discussed. All of you judgemental people are so wrong about him and if you ever have the opportunity to have him care for you, you will be ashamed of yourselves.

what u cant seem to understand is that he was never that way either time I have seen him and I'm pretty sure the er nurses would know and would say something if he was working on his patients that way, which he isn't. so get over it. Maybe its because he is a single man and took one of your girlfriends. he has never presented hisself that way.

For 1 he did not operate on me. He sent me to a qualified surgeon. What is insane is picking on one doctor because he got caught. You'd be surprised at how many doctors and nurses that are druggies they just haven't got caught yet. Pick on ALL the ones on the list who have been caught. They deserve to be in the spotlight as well as Dr. Kauffman. All I know is he was as coherant when he treated me as any other doctor I've been to.
