Woke up at 5:00 am poked my nose outside and the big thermometer on the garage point at less than 20 degrees, my nose got cold instantly. After making coffee and having breakfast I did it again and it must have been stuck at 20 degrees but all the roofs on the garages and houses were white so was inclined to beleive it was accurate. Gosh I could picture a foot of snow on them, ran inside and started the fireplace to take the chill off as it would be soon when our daughter would wake up and loudly say turn the heat on please.

Every winter I question my sanity by NOT moving far South and away from these gorram winters.

I have sworn NOT to turn on the heat until November 1st. Since I super-insulated the house and replaced all the leaky windows with casements, it seems possible to go that deep into autuum without using the furnace. I suppose I will relent if the kids turn blue.

The high temp today was 59 degrees, and at midnight we are still reading 68 degrees inside -- without heat!

At times like these, being full of hot air is actually a blessing.:)

We had a farm in Wisconsin that I heated with wood, and coal in the really cold months. Oct 15 to March 15 were the magic dates. If anyone wanted heat earlier or later, I pointed the way down to the furnace.

I am with you on moving south. My wife and I have friends in a few southern states, and we envy them from about now until May.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Aquarius

You will not be satisfied in your work place, but give it some time and things will fall into place. Those in the construction business should get some good news. Aquarian homebodies will find things rather hectic and may develop a headache by the end of the day, so you should avoid negative thinking as much as possible.
