North Carolina resident wins Think-Off
David Eckel of Clayton, N.C., who argued that the wealthy people have an obligation to help the poor, was selected as America's Greatest Thinker in this year's Great American Think-Off finals held Saturday evening, June 12, in New York Mills.

Actually Dave's position was that the wealthy do NOT have an obligation to help the poor, though they do have a responsibility. Obligation forces them to help, rendering help mandatory. Responsibility leaves the choice to help with them; hopefully they will. Obligation is something you impose, responsibility is something you embrace. Essays and audio at www.think-off.org ; enjoy!
