This will increase everyone's house payment over $100 or more per month, most working families can't afford a large increase like this. Many home owners that have just been hanging in and making minimum payment will have no choice but to default on there loans, this will lead to more foreclosure. Especially with everything else increasing in cost. If this is pushed through by the government despite voters apparent NO vote, voting is clearly a joke. Tri-met / max is a good example that voting is fixed.
Many homes are underwater and the taxed amount is higher than today's apprised amount. WE CAN'T SELL or get refinanced to make it affordable. What do we do just stop paying our mortgages? The district wont receive property tax on defaults and it will damage people's credit. This make no since at this time. So many people are underemployed or unemployed and gone through their saving just keep what they have.
