Head-on crash on M-37 claims 2 victims

Two people died in a head-on crash Saturday afternoon on M-37 just north of Kirby Road, Battle Creek police said.

robert gene delaney was a really good friend he would help you if u needed it he was there when u needed him he would do anything for you.i talked to him on the phone when he crashed he was talking about how the truck in front was going slow and he wanted to go around but he could not see so he went to over a little and check and there was nothing there so he went but the van pulled out in front of him and that's how it happen i know i was on the phone with him. but i want everyone to pray for him and he was the friend everyone wanted.

Yes you are right kasey spanky whould never want to hurt anyone and he sure will be missed by class of 2006 and by all of his close friends. miss you spanky

Spanky really was a great guy and no matter what way we think about the accident, it is done and can't be changed. If we sit and analyze the accident it will only make things worse,all we can do is remmember these two people the way the were not the way they left us. Without them we will never ever know what really happened.
With graduation so close, this all has a great impact on all the friends and family of Robert. He will be remembered forever as the Great Guy he was.

Spanky r even tho its been close to 4 months now everybody misses you! well im not braggin or anything but im good friends with spankys sister jen and somewhat his mom and his mom had told me that she was the last person on his recent calls list on his phone when she got to the accident..so im not trying to be mean but a lot of people are still upset about spanky leaving us i know i am so please keep the stories to yourself

Just thought you would want to know, that we got the phone back form the police and you weren't the last person on it that he had called or was talking to. Are you just an attention getter and trying to gain a spotlight from my brothers death. I feel very sorry for you that you have to take such a tragic story and turn it around. P.S. there were witnesses at the crash who satyed and talked to the police also and not once was it mentioned that he was trying to pass another car. Once again I feel for your sad sad soul and may the lord help you...

I really dont know who you think you are talking about this incident like this. you werent on the phone. you didnt know what happend. he didnt' try to go around a truck. and the van that hit him couldn't have pulled out infront of him, there was no road for that van to come off of. so i think you need to put yourself in check and think about what his family thinks about this. they have all seen this page. your wrong and i hope you know you are. get a life and realize it's to precious for you to fill everyone with lies.

the fact that he was ON THE PHONE while operating a vehicle was probably the biggest contributor to the crash whether it be his mom his friend or whoever. period

He was not on the phone when my son was in the accident. His phone was retrived from his pocket by the medical examiner.(Unless my son came back from the dead just to put his phone back in his pocket) Please get your facts straight before writing such vicious comments. Live is hard enough without my son without having to read all the bull.

I will never forget when we were at the bowling alley just goofing off, and he lifted me up, way up and spun me around. He was an awesome person, and no one will forget that!

my cousin was the woman that lost her life in the accident and had two kids to raise so what all you people need to realize that there i more than just that man in the accident. Her kids are now seperated from the family and we'll never know if they will be reunited.

You are so right. Two familys lives have been changed forever. Our hearts pour out to your family as well. On the anniversary of their passing we try to leave a rememberance at both gravesites. We keep you in our prayers as well.
