Well written, expertly stated, but the Daily Press GUN NAZI"s will whine, cry and complain about a non-existent 'loophole" and never let the facts get in their way. The Daily Press just never learns. They're subscriptions have falled because they had such a biased anti-gun lean. Maybe they should consider pink-slipping the Editorial board next time? The GUN NAZI's will always complain about something. They will never be satisfied until only the government has guns. Then no one will be there, when the government comes after them!
I canceled my subscription several years ago, after an especially idiotic editorial crying for gun control. They've let close to 100 people go at the DP. You'd think a bunch of egg-heads who think they know better than the constitution and think they are smarter than anyone else would put the pieces to the puzzle together, but clearly they aren't as smart as they think they are. what part of "The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"????? Even the U.S. Supreme Court upheld it. You'd think the Daily Press would get it at some point!

A well written logical article. But you miss the point. The anti-gun crowd doesn't work on logic. If they did the discussion would have been over years ago. They work on emotion. They just want to FEEL safe. Actually being safe requires that a citizen take some reaponsibility for their own safety, and aquire the means and knowledge to insure that safety. The anti-gun crowd wants to push that responsibility off on someone else, the police, and then relax in their warm snuggly illusion.

It's just like those who march downtown and pray that the thugs will see the light and stop shooting at one another. It's nothing but a feel-good effort. Hey, we're all with you but we realize that something like that is not going to accomplish anything whatsoever. Neither are the gun buy backs.

Wanna do something for the public? How about a car buyback for those who have expensive vehicles and are stuck with the payments. That would be a real feel-good event.

What everyone keeps forgetting is that the "gun show loophole" is just a smokescreen. It is meant to make people ignore the failures of the administration at Tech before, during and after the shooting. While they have been yelling about this they have done very little to correct the conditions that let to so many deaths.

I disagree. I think MOST people *are* responsible. All the horror stories we read, are about the irresponsible "adults". Their faults and character flaws do not justify the unconscionable act of violating the MAJORITY's constitutional and civil rights.

This last Sunday I taught my 12 year old son how to effectively use, maintain and clean a .22 cal rifle and pistol. He made 4 inch groupings at 25 yard with the rifle and 7 inch with the pistol not bad for a 1st time shooter. He said that Sunday was the best day of his life. Gun control proper breathing, sight alignment and trigger control all American should learn this form of gun control and legally carry a firearm just think how polite society will become when the criminals fears the average citizen.

My vocal pro-gun stance at work is not a secret, and I am amazed at how often my co-workers approach me to ask where they can get a basic firearms safety class for their kids. I should probably consider getting my NRA Instructor certificate.

From what I have seen lately, it seems like Government is the irresponsible group in this relationship, robbing from the taxpayers to shore up rich bankers and companies. Why should Government EVER have a monopoly on firearms? It is against the Constitution for our Govrenment to outlaw personally owned guns.
BTW, it is NOT illegal to own fully automatic firearms, it is a TAX violation for not registering it with the BATFE and some States try to outlaw them for ignorant reasons. It is NEVER the firearm, it is the person behind said firearm that is the problem. It is illogical to blame inanimate objects for human failings and a sign of insanity to keep pushing that same illogic despite all of the evidence to the contrary.
