Woman sentenced for crash that killed daughter, nephew

Kersey...it is a difference of opinion...but if you're smoking, maybe it is crack...she did not intend to flip the vehicle and did not intend to kill her daughter and nephew...accidents happen every day..stupid stuff happens all the time...people have back over their children in their own driveway and kill them, yes people should be more careful but what is done is done...and it was not done intentionally but it happens...and sadly it happened to Shameeka...this forum was quiet as a church mouse when Mrs. Loving's death was reported earlier this month and the underbelly of VA's past that led to Mr. and Mrs. Loving being arrested for their interracial marriage was discussed. The posts here show racism is alive and thriving in VA. No need to say it, I'm making my plans to get the hell outta here.

Wasn't her license suspended or revoked? Didn't she intentionally drive when she was banned? Didn't she intentioanlly not used child seats? Race has nothing to do with it. Not obeying laws does! Her driving could have killed other people besides those two unfortunate children.

This whole story just breaks my heart..It is a sad situation and we can say all we want and hindsight is 20/20 and all that. God bless the families..I am sure that woman is living in he77 now with what she has done. We as a society don't need to add to it. Granted it was definitely wrong but what are you gonna do now? Mourn those poor babies...

I can't believe how off topic this thread went. I started to write on here when this thread began but decided to sit back and wait to see everyones oppinions. To my surprise, half the people up here just argue about the same stuff as they do on every other thread.. yet things never change. I want to speak on the actual story though. I have been fairly envolved in this as one of the children was very close to my heart. This was a very tragic accident. At first I must admit I was quite angered at what happened, yet then I sat back and thought about it. Who am I to pass judgement on someone? Shameeka, did not mean for this accident to happen and for T'Ziah and Daraji to loose their lives. Yes, I am aware that she broke several laws and didn't take the proper measures to ensure the safety of the kids. But, none the less if she had any idea that accident was going to happen, she would have never drove with any of the kids carseats or not. I firmly believe that she loved those kids with all her heart and will live with the guilt for the rest of her life. I feel as though she can't be punished anymore than she already is and will contiued to be through guilt. Everyone is entitled to their own oppinion, but, please remember she still has a daughter that is alive. Why force her daughter to grow up w/out a mother?

Like I stated before; Every one is entitled to their own oppinion. She still loves her children and I'm quite sure she's learned her lesson. So , when she comes home, she will have her family back and be good mother.
