Someone who cares....So be that voice, call down there to Baton Rouge and see if there is a support group in place to help victims of domestic violence, put together a group and you all drive down to Baton Rouge for march 25th's arraignment, offer a resolution...yeah we all were at the funeral, in Atlanta, times are hard for all of us and if it were possible we would all be there on March 25th but thats not the case. Do you actually think that if it happened in Atlanta the outcome would be the same? Absolutely NOT! It would probably be the other way around. That is Fred's stomping ground and i know that's no excuse but what would you do in this situation? What!? For someone who cares answer that! This is a waste of energy..all i ask is for you to be mindful of what you "SAY", MS Reid had to bury her 1st born daughter do you not think she wants to be there? So throwing stones and pointing fingers is Unnecessary, dont do that! Offer a resolution and if thats not the case sometimes things are better left unsaid! Nicole

I have read all of these blogs saying how wrong this situation is and how something should be done. Now is the time to do something. If you can, please email:
Judge Anthony Marabella Courtroom ;District Atty is Hillar Moore send these men an email to [email protected] Mia's councilman is Ulysses'Bones'Addison email him at [email protected];the mayor is Melvin'Kip'Holden email him at [email protected]

If time is an issue, please take 2 minutes out of your lives and sign the petition "Justice for Mia” at http://www.thepetitionsite.com/94/justice-for... . If you could do both, it would be greatly appreciated.

As I sat in court today looking at the person that killed Mia, I looked around and realized that not one person on this blog or anywhere else felt the need to be there in support of her or to make sure that justice prevails. The girl that saw her last was there but that doesn't count so I ask the question, WHO REALLY CARES?

Who Really Cares:
I don't think that it is fair to say that be cause people have jobs that they could not get away from, children to care for, and situations that prevented them from driving to Baton Rouge that no one cares. The majority of Mia's family and friends are not in the Baton Rouge area. So please lets not get this negativity started, again.

SAD, BUT THERE IS NOTHING BUT TRUTH TO WHAT WHO REALLY CARES SAID. IT'S NOT NEGATIVE, IT IS THE TRUTH. I AGREE, SOME PEOPLE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET OF WORK (FRIENDS). HOWEVER, IF NO ONE ELSE WAS THERE, MIA'S IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBERS SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE, NO EXCEPTIONS, NO EXCUSES! LACK OF FAMILY SUPPORT DOES NOTHING BUT AID THE MURDER'S ATTORNEY IN KEEPING HIM ON THE STREETS AND OUT OF PRSION. THIS IS THE SADDEST SITUATION I HAVE EVER SEEN!!! THE LAST COMMENT ON THIS BLOG REALLY SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE ONE OF WHO REALLY CARES...IT WAS TRUE AND TO THE POINT. DON'T GET MAD, IT'S ONLY THE TRUTH. WE CAN GO BACK AND FORTH, BUT AS LONG AS THERE'S NO PRESSENCE OF FAMILY, I.E..MOM, SISTERS, BROTHERS. NOTHING ELSE REALLY MATTERS AND TRUST ME, IT WILL AND PROBABLY HAS BEEN USED TO PLEAD THIS CASE.
THE END!

Jay,

Maybe you need to speak to the Reid family and find out what is going on. Share your opinion with them. Clearly you have not been in contact with them or you would have better understanding of the current situation.

Who really cares, interesting that you know everyone on this blog.

Hey, we live in Atlanta, GA. Do you want our address so that you can bring us enough money or your charge card to get all of us to Baton Rouge, LA for Fred's hearings?

I served on the Jury on this trial, I don't know if I should communicate any of this but I've seen some post by Ms. Sims that she was concerned about how many attended the trail from her side vs the defendant. I would like to assure you Ms. Sims your presence was the most impactful presence in the courtroom and the defendant could have had 100 people there and you would have overshadowed them. many on the jury faught back tears as you testified and your composure throughout the trial was remarkable. I know prosecutors never really know what a jury will do but this would be a slam dunk for guilty. We were terrified that your ganddaughter may have to testify, and I don't think any of us bought the defense of intoxication. This is a tragic event and I hope and pray not that this phase is over you can move forward and focus on the fond memories and your granddaughter. our prayers are with you.

Adam, I admire you for posting your comment on topix. I'm so HAPPY! this trial is over this has been a stressor that has been on my mind since that morning of August 23rd of reliving it again. I'm one of Mia's best friends and was terrified when I had to testify.I had a plans to just look at the jury and the prosecutors without even looking at the other side of the room at Fred but the prosecutor threw a rod at me and asked to look in the eyes of Mia's Killer in the room. I can't tell for how terrified I was. I think justice has been served. Now we can move on for Mia and her child, again thanks Adam.

I knew Fred Reed. We went to Southern University and were in the National Guard together. I am so sorry for the Reid family's loss! I have read over 90% of these comments and I've seen Mia's picture with her daughter. You can literally see the inner beauty exude from her! While Fred seemed laid back and cool to those of us who went to school with him and worked with him, it is obvious he was overcome with envy, jealousy, a vindictive controlling spirit that meant to cause harm. It is hard to believe he would stoop so low but that is what insecurity and an evil heart will do. This "spirit" seems to run in the family. In January 2014, his younger brother, Marlon, murdered his soon to be ex-wife and killed himself. Marlon was abusive, controlling, and manipulative. Neither of these two "snapped". They were both very calculating. This family has hurt a lot of people. Fred's brother Marlon is dead (suicide) but he has three more brothers. I will try not to appear to be judgmental but these boys (and it was a total of 5) have either seen or witness these acts first hand to think it is okay. Just my theory based on personal experience. Anyways, Fred will be in prison for 60 years, so he probably won't ever get out, and that is how it should be. He murdered a sweet innocent person in COLD BLOOD. Life is but a vapor and it is sooooo precious. I hear he is in prison leading bible studies but on the Lord knows his heart and if he's truly repentant. And true repentance starts with owning up to your sin- not using medication as a scapegoat.

To Mia's mom, I know it is years later, but I am truly sorry for your loss. May the peace of God and the grace of God rest, rule, and abide in your heart and keep you each and every day.

Sometimes when two people shouldn't be together things like this happen. How does it go that far? I am praying from both families. There are going to be children on both sides left without a parent. Nothing going to changed what happen the only thing we can do in this situation is pray for both families. There was not 1 life lost but 2. Once a couple takes steps toward being with each other it so important to incorporate Christ in your relationship because Satan is busy.
I really wish he wasn't stupid to do this he should recall now for what he did all we can do is pray for them and with god will make them return to there families
