GULFPORT -- Two Louisiana men arrested in Waveland face trial on charges alleging they were producing, using and trafficking counterfeit credit cards.Larry D. Norwood Jr. and Patrick Henry Thomas, both 24, have pleaded not guilty in a case first investigated by Waveland police and then by the U.S. Secret Service.
Police had arrested them Dec. 13, 2012, after receiving a complaint from Wal-Mart of suspicious activity involving two men who were using multiple credit cards to buy inexpensive items to get larger amounts of cash.Police said they arrested one of them at Walmart and arrested the other after he went to the police station to bond out his friend.Both men are from the Baton Rouge area.The men were arrested on several state charges and were released on bond.A federal grand jury indicted them in August. Both were arrested and were released on bond after arraignment Sept. 3. Their travel is restricted to Louisiana and South Mississippi pending trial.Their trial is set for Nov. 4.
