Tough love for Louisiana -

Clearly Jindal deserves a chance to serve as Louisiana's governor.
He values education and wants to attract smart jobs to his state so that young college grads in Louisiana will not have to relocate to other states after graduation. Is he really going to confiscate all of the refrigerators and freezers from everybody in the Louisiana state govt that may be in a position to take a bribe? I hope he is smart enough to know that they might find other places to hide their money. He will certainly have a big job to do if he wins the election. |

As a Bush-Cheney, Inc. lackey, this
one-of-too-many syndicated Conservative columnists works diligently still to blame Katrina's victims, and prop-up new true believer recruits. REMEMBER THIS: Pres. George W. Bush addressing a national audience, while standing in front of preeminent General Andrew Jackson's action statue, in New Orleans--and in full view & bluster--both lying and making knowingly unkept promises to all the City's own and the American people!!! |

Bobby Jindal is undoubtedly the best choice for Louisiana. I am proud of him.

He can't do worse than Blanco. I hope he serves this state well.

But he is not a foreigner he is an American. Ok, so his religion is Hindu are you suggesting he will want everyone to convert? And what about his name? Many many many people changed the name they use in public and did not change their legal names. BTW you live in Louisiana, a state whose residents have French, French-Canadian, Spanish, West African, Italian, English to name a few, surnames. Louisiana deserves the chance to rid itself of the corruption that has plagued it for scores. Perhaps this man is representative of the redemption to come to Louisiana. |

Please don't bring your ignorant blabber into this. You sound like someone who would have protested desegration in schools. You are probably the same person that would vote for Edwin Edwards if he ran for office again right after he gets out of jail. Do you actually think that this is the first person of foreign descent that has been elected into a political office? Please crawl back into the cave from which you exited. |
What an idiot.....should I go get my "white trash" bag right now?......the people of Louisianna elected this Republican Catholic....because he was the best qualified to get the job done.......so as the previous writer had stated....crawl back into the cave (aka trailer) that you came crawling out of. |

I did NOT vote for Jindal and am very concerned about what he will do in LA. The ONLY time he has ever been elected to serve was as Representative and actually ran for Governor for 4 years. Check out his voting record. He was not in Washington on many important votes that directly affected Louisiana. We really don't know for sure what he "stands" for; we only know what he says he stands for.... I think that those people that hated Gov. Blanco before she was elected, hated her more because she beat the crap out of "the smart" kid. Those same people hated her the next 4 years. She could never do anything right in their eyes. I am Republican and voted for her because I knew of her voting record and her ethics. Already, Gov-elect Jindal is not in and already, his chief legal council has been called down by The Advocate for not giving up his law practice that represents gambling. God Bless Louisiana!

With regards to Katrina, some of you folks want it both ways.
You know the last time the Federal Government sent help into the south, y'all didn't like it too much and fought back until 1865. Let's talk about moving from just plain stupid to completely and patently brainless. Long before Katrina was laid at George Bush's feet, it was a problem that Ray Nagin, Kathleen Blanco (all of whom get the WEATHER CHANNEL) and the COMMUNITY could have handled by mobilizing local resources. Why did so many people fail to help their neighbors? Why did Ray Nagin wait to order the evacuation and make the buses available? Why is Bush being held accountable and nobody else? With regards to FEMA, they do not own any assets. Their job is not to rescue people but to coordinate communications. Long before the federal government failed, local government failed. Failed to act, failed to make good decisions and failed to get neighbor to help neighbor. The new governor cannot do any worse than the hoodlum who calls himself the Mayor of New Orleans or the former Governor. |

Well, well, well. I tried to tell you all the truth about Bobby Jindal. Here it is - less than 7 months in office and everyone is ready to recall him because he is talking about not vetoing the Legislatures pay raise. It's not that he is just a liar, he is just inexperienced. The worse is yet to come.

where is Edwin Edwards when you need him?
