I would rather stick with the new Mexican place, at least they aren't a bunch of proven thieves

lots of thieves around here.....deal with them everyday......they just havn't been proven.....the ones that have been proven.......they are paying the fines etc........don't let yourself get caught up in that "judgemental role" or it might bite ya in the butt.

Does the "new" Toros have a liquor license? So is everything settled now? Paid a fine and all is good? Does anyone know?

The people who coowned the restraunt in Batesville, that were from Batesville did not know about everything that was goin on it. The guy that is still in jail with a three million dollar bond is the one responsible along with the accountant. The one that runs the toros now always sent everything from bills to applications to the accountant who supposedly took care of it. The ones who now own toros were affected greatly and a lot was taken from them n after they didn't find any evidence in their house against them they apologizes and let them go... That family is still dealing with the consequences of what the main owner of alcapolos did.... The guy that ran the one in lawrenceburg. The gracias are a great family who went into business with a bad person..... Now they are sufferin because they got a lot of their hard earned money taken from them and Hvent gotten any of it back they went from a well off family to Having to ask their children to work to help pay for the bills I know I will go to their restraunt because they are still the same people n food just a different name ....

Thank you for the info. Its a shame that the Herald Tribune didn't write any of this in the paper. They are good people........and hard workers.......and their children are very well mannered. It's a shame what they have been put through........BUT....they are strong, they have their health, their kids are good......and they have their faith. I'm sure they will come out of this stronger and wiser........but it sure is heartbreaking watching them go thru this!

I agree that the Garcia's are great people. However, there are two sides to every story and the truth usually lies somewhere in the middle. I wish them the best but I doubt they were absolutely clueless about everything that happened. The police did not "apologize and let them go". Two were arrested and paid bail. The main owner (Adolfo) was not there checking out customers with the adding machine to avoid paying sales tax. The immigrant community knows who is legal and who is not. I do hope the Garcia family is able to overcome this. They are good people. But to claim that they were totally oblivious to every thing that went on in an establishment they ran, frankly, makes them look stupid - and they are not.
