For guest about the equals dead kids. Automatic assault rifles or semi auto ones are not the only things that kill people. If you was to look at the statistics more ppl for from other things such as drunk drivers then by guns. So why don't you start posting remarks about how car manufactures and the manufactures of alcohol are responsible for these deaths. Also more ppl are killed yearly by knives then guns. Lets ban knives why we are at it as well. Oh wait then we wouldn't be able to cut out Starks and butter out toast. No matter what kind of gun control laws are made. The criminals are still going to obtain them and kill ppl if they feel like it. That's why they are criminals. Cause they don't follow the laws that already exists so what makes you think they will follow new ones. Wake up America.

Cars are designed to get people from one place to another. Assault rifles are designed to kill people as efficiently as possible.

Its only easy for criminals to get them because so many civilians have them. We can't stop people from doing drugs, but that doesn't mean we should legalize them. We work to limit the supply of drugs on the street by going after distributors. We need to do the same with assault rifles. If the manufacture of assault rifles was limited to the supply needed by the police and military, it'd be much harder for criminals to get them and use them for what they are designed for...killing people.

Way more people are killed with handguns than so called "assault rifles". Should we ban them too ?

An outright ban? No, but how about we start with universal background checks, which the NRA used to support but now opposes.

And why not regulate the sale of ammunition the same way...everyone gets a background check. So it'll be harder for thugs to get bullets.

If the government can keep an eye on you just because you deposit $10,000 cash into a bank, why can't we keep an eye on anyone who buys thousands of bullets at a time.

I think we all can agree that these are reasonable steps.
