We drove down Old Firetower Rd., as well yesterday, and there were no structures burned until it runs into Pine Path. Pine Path and 1441 to Charolais & Cattlemen's down to Hereford and then back up Cattlemens all the way to Longhorn and back out to Longhorn and 1441 about 90-95% of the structures were burnt to the ground. Completely unbelievable!! Like being in a war zone...my parent's lost their home on Cattlemens, my heart goes out to them and the many, many others who have lost everything. These houses did not burn like most you see on the news in other places...they completely disappeared, the only thing left at my parents place was the metal roof from the house and workshop and some semblance of my dad's new Ford Edge!!

Why isn't there a central place where people can check to see which areas are affected and where their friends and families are?

Doesn't the Red Cross or some organization have such a list?

If not, I will think twice before ever again donating to many of these so called charities who look after nobody but themselves!(Starting with Cindy Anthony and that sorry excuse of a husband of hers with the foundation they want to start to help "missing children." How many of these are needed for Pete's sake.

This fire is a good example. In an emergency, there should be a designated organization or phone number for victims to register at and where anyone looking for information can check! Doesn't take much more than common sense and very little money!

Like who cares? Texass, a hard right -wing enclave is anti federal government. And wants all federal spending to stop except for military and is dead set against welfare (FEMA). Now that you have a little fire you've got your hand out to the fed for "help". Well guess what, if you weren’t hypocrites I'd support you.
Try building fire safe and in a defensible zone.
Try building your houses tornado/hurricane safe.
You're absolutely right about building our homes and office buildings safely. We follow the same building codes you folks in California designed for earthquake freeways in Oakland. Pancakes anyone?

President Obama ignores written requests for Bastrop Disaster relief for the second day.

Most believe it is because Texas Democrats are proud American Democrats and not far left of Chairman Mao, so called Progressive, Freaktoids.

Insiders believe that Comrade Pelosi forbid Obama from responding on behalf of hard pressed Texas families who have lost everything.

What a tragic event in the history of the proud American Democratic Party!

What a tragic day for hard pressed Bastrop County families who have lost everything.

Sounds like a person that is so disgusted with himself that the only way he can feel better about himself is to attack other people who were PROBABLY ON THEIR WAY TO WORK. You know, WORK........which you could have probably found in Austin more so than in most other states. Glad your gone. You are right, Karma is a bitch.

Was it floored in California??
Was it prepped in California?
Was it sold in California?
Was it registered in California?
Did a dealer in California make money and pay income tax on it?
Did someone wash it each week that it sat on a lot in California and have a job and pay taxes?
Was it ever run in a TV, Newspaper or radio ad in California and did the advertiser pay taxes on any of that money?
You complain about corporations not paying tax and you do the same thing they do…………….LOL
Typical far left of the road……………..LOL
