I was so sorry to hear about this poor man!

I live not so far from this rest stop. I noticed that in the fork of the tree someone had put a stuffed animal. He must have been loved and thought of. The man's death was reported in the Bastrop Advertiser newspaper, although I do not know the date, it was the next edition after the body was found on the 11th.

God bless him and his family.

There was children that passed on a school bus that saw this man hanging..What a horrible site for the kids to have in their minds. I do Hope that the man's family can find some peace. From what I hear the man was placed there by no choice of his own.

Do you know if there is an open investigation on this case? What did you hear in reference to him being placed there by no choice of his own?

We went to the site (no disrespect at *all to this man's family) as ghosthunters to see if we could perhaps get his voice on digital recorders, however the noise was too loud from the highway next to the rest stop! We do feel that something sinister happened here. We wanted to help him cross over to the light if we could.

If something malicious was involved in this tragedy, I hope they find out who/what is involved!

We did have a piece of equipment with us that has a random combination of words pre-recorded on it, and got some interesting responses: "priest" (was he catholic?); alone; sorry; sorry; and various other words. We recorded, but as I said there was so much noise from the highway we couldn't hear any audible words on the recorder. We did feel like this was a place of many lost people, and it is a public rest stop, so that very well could be, although we'll never know for sure. I hope things are better or you!
