Like Father, like son, Caleb?

Johnny would never answer when I challenged him to expose some of his like-minded brethren. Are y'all too afraid that the funds will dry up if y'all do that?

Are you too afraid that the community will see that y'all are not wholly united on everything, and have problems just like any other denomination?

Let us not confuse the diehard coc with facts they conveniently ignore and attempt to bury under the rug. Daniel Sommer was truly the godfather of the present day hardline coc- yet later in life he repented of his divisive attitudes. JR, Caleb, Heath, and JC all follow this guys teachings, he birthed their congregations with the Sand Creek declaration, yet they would never acknowledge him although they agree with his thoughts. Even the moderate coc I have been brought up in hold some of his attitudes.
Your starting to sound like Bobby. I have no Idea whom Sommer is and have heard of Lipscomb Univ. only.

I marvel that Johnny's church is over ten years old and still doesn't have elders, yet he somehow has managed to start 3 or 4 other ones. Shouldn't he get one congregation under the what he believes to be a biblical model of church governance, before he starts other congregations? It seems to me he uses the excuse that no one is qualified to be an elder in his congregations to justify his exclusive control.
By the way, Caleb, when are you going to expose other conservative church of christ congregations that you believe are teaching error? Doesn't judgement begin with the House of God? Why do y'all go into other denomination churches, yet we never see you exposing one of your own who is doing something you would not agree with?
Thatís simple, friend. If they expose their own people, does it not suggest that the coc are like everybody else? That would backfire BIG time. How can unity be claimed while having disunity? Let them soak in the mud whilst pretending they clean.

You should do some research. Hardline coc theology and Sommer's teachings are one and the same. He's one of the main reason for the coc/doc/cc split. And hardline coc theology and Bible teachings are not one in the same. Learn your congregations background and history, where it's doctrine and theology came from.

There are reasons why coc theology around KY, OH, and points north are much different than TX, TN, and the deep south.

PS- where is Bobby?

Dont care to research that as I do not fit or follow those molds. But thanks for assuming I followed them without asking.

Do not fit or follow these molds? Don't have to ASK you. I have read your posts for a while. You are straight up Texas style coc in beliefs. Don't care to truly know where what you've been taught comes from? Some of it ain't Bible. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks; by their fruits you will know them. And like Bobby, I "speak the language too", I know church of Christer speak when I hear it- I got pretty good at it too. Your whole "I'm not part of any movement; my group has been here since Pentecost" is exactly that. I used to spit that out regularly myself.

You may have said that I have no idea and will not claim what I do not know as you do. As Bobby did before and you griped about you are now doing. Continue if you desire. Did it ever occur to you that someone can come to a knowledge that matches peoples thoughts without ever reading those people. I have never read Campbell although Bobby claimed I did. Dont know Sommer as you claimed, Dont know what Texas Coc is as you claim. You can not judge my fruits as you do not know me although you put that post up to simply down me and group with your idea of someone else. What part of my mouth did you find to show a corrupt heart? By the way as I told Bobby the wind blows to the south in my part of the country because Texas sucks. He got a kick out that one. Good Day Dave.

I did misspeak as I am part of a Movement. Christ and Him Crucified and I got that from Paul as I have read him. I wonder if that matches anyone elses movement if so is that bad?

You don't read very well.

*Never said you read Campbell, or knew Sommer. Your thoughts match them whether you knew them or not.
*Never said you knew what Texas coc was- just that you believe similarly, whether you know or acknowledge it.
*Never said you were a corrupt heart. My comments mean that I can tell what your group teaches, where it comes from, from reading your posts.

What I am saying is this- if you are coming to the same conclusions as /Texas style coc, Daniel Sommer, and others, you may want to rethink why you come to those conclusions. Some of them aren't Bible.

If we will be judged according to the same measure we judge with, Texas style coc is in trouble. My desire is to cause some to think, study, and let love be their motivation.

Good points about Daniel Sommer. He and W. Carl Ketcherside were two hard-liners who many today have their roots. Both men had a change of heart in their last days and regretted the harm they caused to the Church.
