What do Americans think of Health Care in their country?

What do Americans think of Health Care in their country?I have grown up in Sweden and the United Kingdom where healthcare is practically FREE. Cost simply isn't a problem - but waiting lists for surgery can be...(I had to wait 3 months for some non-urgent surgery, but the cost was £0)
Also, the facilities (although clean and functional) aren't quite as nice as those you see on American TV shows.
It seems SCARY, CRUEL and extra-ordinarily CAPITALIST to charge people for saving their lives or treating their illnesses.
Stories about people having to sell their house to pay medical bills, or being denied treatment like in "SICKO" are almost unbelievable to me.
How can you guys put up with this - why don't people protest and get rid of this system? I hardly dare to go to the US on holiday - what if I got sick??!!
