2010 Tax breaks for low income college students?Well, I'm 21, Single and have a regular part time job while attending school part time also. I'll make probably about $14,000 this year. So i know i need to file. But i was curious if there were any tax breaks for low- income people or for students? I'm not a dependent on anybody else's return and i have no dependents either. The last few years I've let me sister file my taxes using one of those do it yourself programs. But i know if there were special tax breaks then she probably wouldn't know about them. Any input would be appreciated.
And please don't just tell me to go to H&R Block or have a professional file for me. I know they'd know about any tax breaks... But if there aren't any then i'd be wasting my money to have them file my taxes, since mine aren't complicated at all. I've also check the irs website, but didn't find any info on my exact situation.
