RCIA is starting soon. I know some people in Bham that could be your sponsor.

I have been to Mass in Trussville, downtown, Hoover and Homewood.
I'll be glad to go over and preach the gospel to them. Everyone needs to hear it. What they do with it is their business.

Since they hate children, I doubt they will listen.

I count myself disappointed. Mike is actually tap dancing around the catholics overturning Roe vs. Wade question.

Truth is it ain't gonna happen. At least two of the so called catholics would NEVER vote to end this. Too much political fallout. Forget Jesus, don't hurt the liberals/progressives!

Roberts and Sotomayor would be the two Catholics.

Which is why the lawsuit to overturn it has never appeared in the first place. This court is bought and paid for.

Hobby Lobby knew that it would win it's case long before it ever showed up in front of these judges. You don't spend those kind of legal fees on just a prayer.

Were you awake during civics class. A law would have to pass banning all abortion in some state and eventually work it way to the Court.

1st no state wants to ban abortion. I doubt you do.

They only want to ban abortions for other people. If their daughter or wife is raped or is at danger for health reasons, let's kill that baby.

No total ban of abortion by the stAtes no overturn of roe v wade.

The only hope right now is limits

What is your greatest Christian hero between AD 100 and AD 1900?
We know Calvin Hobbes' is John Calvin.
I have thousands. John Henry Newman is one.
It is a typical attempt at trickery on the part of the Catholics but hey they are deceitful about a lot of things. I only have one hero (Jesus) and since Catholics downplay the role of Jesus and substitute for him in everything they do Mike had to make the dates such as to eliminate Jesus as a possibility. If I had a hero between those dates I would choose John the Apostle who died in the year 100 AD. I am surprised you left yourself open ( should have used the date 101 AD) Mike. The Orthodox or Eastern church who were never part of the Catholic church would be my next choice but you would most likely claim they were Catholic although they never were. You may even claim John was Catholic, who knows?

All the Apostles were part of the Church Jesus started. All historical records show that this Church was early on, called the Universal Church.

The earliest know writing was a disciple of St John, St Ignatius of Antioch

[gnatius lived from around A.D. 35 to 107. He was the third bishop of Antioch and tradition records that he was a disciple of the apostle John (cf. The Maryrdom of Ignatius). During the reign of Emperor Trajan, he was taken to Rome and suffered martyrdom there. Along the way he wrote seven letters—one to St. Polycarp of Smyrna, and six others to various churches.

On the Authority of the Catholic Church
The Greek root of the term catholic means "according to the whole" or “universal.” Ignatius uses the term to refer to the visible and authoritative Church:

"See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is administered either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude of the people also be; even as wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church".—Letter to the Smyrnaeans, Ch 8

Christian heroes for low end protesters do not and cannot exist. before 1700

Everybody in history has been wrong until they as individuals.began reading a Catholic book bought at a bookstore.

They think that it was God's plan, to leave all Truth in a book, that wold not be available to the masses for 1000 years after it was created, until the printing press was invented, 350 years after Jesus died, and everybody would be led to the Truth that they needed to receive eternal life.

Nowhere in that Catholic book that you bought in the bookstore does it even come close to mentioning a book was going to be your guide.

The Church decided that book was going to be profitable for teaching and that it was the inerrant written word of God.

But whoever hears the Church hears Jesus and the Father who sent him.

You hear the Church , therefore Jesus, when you accepted the Bible was the written word of God.

But you protesters will only allow Jesus to save you on your own terms.

All 40,000 different 'contracts' with Jesus. Jesus, you can save me, but I am going to have to start my own community church, because the rest of them are not Bible based..

Crap like that.

Hohummmmmmmmm another slam the word of God and praise tradition sermon by the worshipers of Mary. I think these verses are still relevant for you modern day Pharisees and scribes in the Catholic church today Mike. Notice that Jesus also said this to those in charge of maintaining the scriptures of those days so your claim that the church gave us the bible doesn't make you any holier in the eyes of God. My theory is he allowed the Catholic church to protect the bible in the hope they might someday read it.
Mar 7:5 And the Pharisees and the scribes asked him, "Why do your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat with defiled hands?"
Mar 7:6 And he said to them, "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, "'This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me;
Mar 7:7 in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.'
Mar 7:8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men."
Mar 7:9 And he said to them, "You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!
Mar 7:10 For Moses said,'Honor your father and your mother'; and,'Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.'
Mar 7:11 But you say,'If a man tells his father or his mother, "Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban"'(that is, given to God)—
Mar 7:12 then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
Mar 7:13 thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do."
Mar 7:14 And he called the people to him again and said to them, "Hear me, all of you, and understand:
If Jesus when he came to earth the first time was not impressed in the least by the traditions of the religious leaders at that time what in the world can make you think when Jesus returns again he will be impressed by the traditions of the Catholic church?

Same word games the Church of Christ and the hard line descendants of John the Baptist like to play with their chosen church names. Just a play on words that some people repeat so many times in the hopes those that hear will believe that they convince themselves. Now for my Sunday golf game.

Sacred Tradition is equal to scripture

CCC 82, "...the Church, to whom the transmission and interpretation of Revelation is entrusted, does not derive her certainty about all revealed truths from the holy Scriptures alone. Both Scripture and Tradition must be accepted and honored with equal sentiments of devotion and reverence'."

Saint Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go
I owe my soul to the company store

Bought and paid for-not by the blood of Christ but by the authority of the Roman church.

Gloom, despair, and agony on me
Deep, dark depression, excessive misery
If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all
Gloom, despair, and agony on me

Tradition, the oral teaching of the apostles is equal to the written word.

The Bible tells us that.

Jesus said to obey the Pharisees because they taught the truth. He didnt say read the Torah and decide for yourself what it means.

Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples:“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

He was telling us that men are sinners but those who sat on Moses seat (Tradition here because Moses seat is not in the OT) teach the truth. Listen to him.

The Popes sit on Peter's seat. The Church is the pillar and foundation of truth.

Do you what tell you because whoever hears them hears me and the Father who sent me.

Did Jesus say read a book and decide for yourself?
