What is your greatest Christian hero between AD 100 and AD 1900?

We know Calvin Hobbes' is John Calvin.

I have thousands. John Henry Newman is one.

You screwed up that answer didn't you. An Anglican translation of a Catholic book is your Christian hero.

King James was King of England and there by birth the "Pope" of the Church of England. The Anglican church as is it called today to tone down the name, is the most Catholic of all protester communities.

it is because of King James and his successors that the pilgrims came to the new world.

You like most low end prots dontt have a Christian hero before 1800. Nobody believed like you for you to look up to.

A translated Catholic book is your hero. That will get printed out for sure.

You haven't bothered to read it either, so your protests about it are of no merit.

Sure I have. I grew up Baptist and was told you would go to hell with any other Bible.

Don't understand the use of the old English language anymore

It is profitable for teaching by the Church which is the pillar and foundation if truth.

A bible translated for the Church of England?

Since you think it is a Catholic book anyway, Why didn't you just keep on using it after you went church shopping and ended up where you are now?

It all says the same things anyway. Right?

Because I use the one the US Catholic Bishops choose to use at every Mass everyday

I help proclaim God's written word at Mass

I never went Church shopping. Been a member of only 2. I went home to Jesus' church.

Why isn't a Catholic bible like you say the KJV is good enough for church services? Them funny Shakespeare sounding words just ain't understandable? They obviously worked just fine when you were a Baptist.

What gives here?

The CCC says you can't help the situation you were born into.

I found out Luther on his own thru out 7 books of God's written word.

My book had some missing chapters. It almost had James removed too.

Okay. William has one of 30,000 Bible translations in the world today as his Christian hero.

So he can't think of one man that existed during a 1800 year period that thought like him and he could admire.

What about you other low enders. High Enders can point to the inventor of their community.

Mike what is the current count for the number of Rome-approved Bibles in the Catholic church today? I realize that it changes periodically, depending on a variety of factors.

Wow. That sure be a lot of bibles. Wonder why they ditched the 1899 D-R.

My 1611 KJV has the Apocrypha in it, so can it get a hall-pass from the bishops too?
