If you're not a full fledged professional Catholic basher then I've never known one. And I've never ever mentioned Purgatory. So when are we going to see you start a thread called The Errors of the Church of Christ or Church of Christ Doctrinal Evolution??????????

The church call it Indulences. When people pray for you, it like to get points and when you bill up enough points you are free to go to heaven. In reality, Purgatory was a creation of the church to help do alway the belief of Reincarnation. If you think about it, it is the same. In purgatory you pay for the life you lead with punishment in purgatory but knowing you are going to get out. Reincarnation is a belief that whatever you do in this life you will pay for in the next life. Again, the bible has many references that could be reincarnation. Live by the sword, die by the sword, what you sow, so shall you reap. Blessed the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. They is more, but just some examples. PS Reincarnation was a very common belief then.

So your little church doesn't take up a collection to pay the preacher, utilities etc.? Y'all probably paid off the double wide a couple years ago.

The CC has fed more people, clothed more people, educated more people and healed more people than any organization in the history of the world.

Anybody with any common since knows that Jesus started the CC. That s why it is 2000 years old, the oldest continuing organization in history.

My Priest makes 950 a month and works 24/7.

The Vatican's budget is a measly 250 million for a Church that has 1.2 billion members.

I believe Osteen's 1 Church has a budget of 75 million.

The city of Martinsville, has a budget of 88 million

"upon this rock I will build My church" (Mt 16:18)
"do not say 'I am of Peter'" (1 Cor 1:10)
"as gardeners and builders... each man must be careful how he builds on it." (1 Cor 3:10)
"I used the gardener and builder figures to that you learn not to exceed what is written" (1 Cor 4:6)
Jesus intended his church to built upon scripture, not Peter or oral traditions.

The larger context of 1 Cor 4:6 is in a section of 1 Corinthians we call, "preacheritus" (Chapters 1-4.) The church was beginning to follow men rather than scripture. Of course Roman Catholics today say, "I am of Peter" ... the pope. This directly violates what Paul said here.

Tell me if Peter was the First Pope why did Paul or other Christians not recognize this?

11 For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloes people, that there are quarrels among you. 12 Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying,I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ.

A perfect spot for Paul to Claim PETER as POPE yet he did not have such a thought given him by the HOLY SPIRIT. Now you catholics my want to get rid of Paul as uninspired.

JC, there must be some really unreasonable and dishonest people here, judging from the negative 'judge it' icons. You make an extremely good point on this one - best I've heard in a while.

I'm sure Paul's take was that we should all say; 'I am of Christ.'

So according to you Christ was not the leader either in this verse. And of rest of the Protesters say AMEN.

The Primacy of Peter:

( Jesus only paid the tax for Peter and himself)

27But that we may not offend them,* go to the sea, drop in a hook, and take the first fish that comes up. Open its mouth and you will find a coin worth twice the temple tax. Give that to them for me and for you.

* John runs ahead of Peter to the empty tomb but does not enter. He waits for Peter to enter first.

*Luke 24:34 risen Christ first appeared to Peter

*Mk 16:7 Angel sent to announce Resurrection to Peter

*Lke 9:32 and Mk 16:7 Peter and his companions.

*Gal 1:18 after conversion Paul visits chief Apostle

*Lk 22:32 Peters faith will strengthen his brethren

* Acts 1: 13-26 Led the Apostles to replace Judas ( apostolic succession too)

* Acts 2:14 led Apostles in preaching on Pentecost

* Acts 2:41 received the first converts

* Acts 3:6-7 performed the first miracle after Pentecost

* MT 16:18 Upon this Rock I will build my Church

* MT 16:18 give you the Keys to the Kingdom

*JN 21:17 given Christ's flock as Chief Shepherd

*Acts 5:1-11 inflicted first punishment, Anaias and Sphira dropped dead for lying to him.

*Acts 8:21 excommunicated first heretic; Simon Magnus

*Acts 10:44-46 received revelation to admit Gentiles into the Church

*Acts 15;7 led first Council of Jerusalem

* Acts 15:19 pronounces his first dogmatic decision

* Mt 18:21, Mk8:29, Lk 8:45, 12:41, Jn 6:69 Peter Spoke for the Apostles.

Peter's name appears 195 time in the Bible, more tan all the rest put together.

Peter was opposed By Paul Face to Face for his error. Was Peter really a pope? Ask Paul and the bible and you will have to answer NO> He was a mere man that was commissioned to do spread the gospel to the Jews. The number of times a name appears means nothing. Christ claimed Authority ALL OF IT. Peter never claimed authority and was not shown as such by any other apostle. WAS peter the only right apostle?

Sure he claimed Authority.

What error? He sat at the wrong table to eat?

If the Pope says that he thinks Zimmerman needed to go to jail, I would disagree with him too.

You have no clue.
