The teaching of Peter being the first Pope is ridiculous. Matthew 16:13- Matthew 16:20 are the verses Catholics claim Peter gets his crown. Nowhere is there the slightest hint Peter will be Pope in these verses or any future account of an event where there is an indication he might be Pope as a result of these verses. In other words no Pope in the bible at all let alone Peter being that Pope. This which is the subject of those verses is throughout the bible. This sums up the subject Jesus was speaking of.

Mat 16:20 Then he strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

So there is no point in being misled by tradition of those who departed from the church when we have the bible to let us know what the truth is. So Mike I hope you can see how the scriptures are by far superior to tradition when it comes to the truth on any subject. That is especially the case when those traditions come from scrupulous characters.

Why do you call the Apostles scrupulous? That's a new one.

Okay. Christianity lesson. What came first the Church or the Bible ?

It is an open book question.

Do you have any idea how many scrolls, documents, claimants, and transcriptions the Church had to wade through to decide on 27 books in the NT? A ton of them are still around. The final decision was inspired, infallible and the work of Ecumenical Councils of the Catholic Church. This cannot be denied only ignored as I have said before. I have 2 books of these rejects...The Forgotten Books of Eden and The Lost Books of the Bible.

No NT scriptures for at least 10 years after Pentecost. Jesus died no history for 2000 years and all of sudden history started with Bobby and his bible.

When was genesis written and who wrote it? I can tell you there were no catholics there. There were no catholics at pentecost and no apostles after John died in ad 95. Scripture rules! There is no new scripture being written and no more inspired apostles.

The testimony about Jesus was in several O.T. books of the bible. So partially at the very least the bible came first. Strange thing is I cannot find anything about the Pope in the Old Or New Testament. I can only find Peter in the New Testament and he is not the main character. How can the Pope play second fiddle? That is a better question along with why the Pope i snot mentioned. Deacons and bishops but no Pope. Peter was called Satan was prophesied that he would deny Christ three times but no mention of Pope. At least Peter was not an infallible Pope, not when he is called Satan and married taking along his wife.

You have to use deception to prove a false position. That was an actor.

On the first day of the week when we gathered to break bread, Paul spoke to them because he was going to leave on the next day, and he kept on speaking until midnight (Acts 20:7).
On the first day of the week each of you should set aside and save whatever one can afford, so that collections will not be going on when I come (1 Cor. 16:2).
Let no one, then, pass judgment on you in matters of food and drink or with regard to a festival or new moon or Sabbath (Col. 2:16).

From a tradition handed down from the apostles which took its origin from the very day of Christís Resurrection, the Church celebrates the Paschal mystery every seventh day, which day is appropriately called the Lordís Day or Sunday. The day of Christís Resurrection is both the first day of the week, the memorial of the first day of creation, and the "eighth day," on which Christ after his "rest" on the great Sabbath inaugurates the "day that the Lord has made," the "day that knows no evening." (CCC 1166)

Because he was reading from some script about something that was written in the 1800s and when he left you can see this dude in there I have seen in other videos. Also before he left he would have given his Blessing. Also the "Bishop" costume looked terrible.

How did that hook in your mouth feel?

Although Barnabas speaks of an eighth day it is nat as you are speaking of it. I don't recall of anyone being present when Jesus arose. How can you say what day it was? It could have been on the seventh day prior to sunset the previous evening for all we know, Mark 16:9 is questionable. I am not saying when Jesus did or did not rise because the scriptures are not specific. He was risen on the first day is specific, just no witness for the actual rising.

I could tell it was not a Catholic bishop right off the bat Mark. You know how? When a altar boy walked in front of him he never goosed him. It was a dead give away.

I quoted the Church teaching on that direct from the CCC.

You question what day Jesus arose from scripture, but you don't question an ignorant youtube video.

You low end prots types are all the same...liars, frauds and scammers. And if my last name was Sproul I would change it to hide the connection to the shenanigans of your family.

We both were born into low church prot families. We listened to God when he showed us the way home. Most hide and ignore it.

They want to be the "Boss-man" when it comes to religion. Nobody is going to tell them what to believe. They belong the "democracy of God" instead of the Kingdom".
