Muscle And A Shovel is not cheap. It costs $16 per copy. Many or most Christian books are less.

Johnny Robertson's sect of Church of Christ is buying Muscle With A Shovel in bulk and trying to give them away for free. I know for fact that a lot of their money lately has gone to buy as many copies of Muscle With A Shovel that they can. I also know that Johnny's kind are spamming Amazon with glowing reviews of Muscle With A Shovel. 440 reviews, 5 stars from 404 of them.

They are doing what L. Ron Hubbard's followers long have done to keep their master's books on the bestseller lists.

L. Ron Hubbard would be envious of what Johnny and Mark and Micah and James are doing with their Church of Christ book.

Legalistic, graceless, hardline coc false theology. I know all about that book. Misguided and wrong is what it is.
Please go to any section of the book and show me any of the allegations you have stated. Your argument doesn't hold water.

By definition a protestant community teaches false theology. The lower on the end that community is, the less truth it has. If that book is about the Church of God, or Christ, or the Church of God in Christ, and any other of the 40,000 out there, then it has false doctrine in it.

All of Christian communities brought their truths out of the Catholic Church and discarded those that that did not agree with the men who created those communities.

Constatine established the catholic church as the official church in 313. I agree that all the apostate protestant religions that are out there today have their roots in the main apostate church, the roman catholic church. The true church, bought with the blood of Christ, is and always will be the church of Christ just as it was in the first century. The catholic church continues to teach doctrines of men and not of God. Read the Bible and see for yourself. The catholic church is the largest in the world, is it not? Read your Bible and see what it says about the path to heaven.

This is an asinine post. We were on our 29th Pope before Constantine. Do you want their names?

If your community is the true Church, why are the half the members in Tenn and Texas?

Why did God abandon your community for 1800 years until

As I said when you are speaking about the catholic "church" you are speaking of the apostate church. The Bible speaks clearly about the doctrines of men forbidding people to marry, abstaining from certain foods, calling people on earth their spiritual "father". Why can't you see that?

You don't believe the pillar and foundation of truth. The Bible is profitable for teaching. By whom. The pillar and foundation of truth.

Surely you not the pillar and foundation of truth., Are you?

Johnny Robertson has videos on youtube.com one particular one is named "Micah Robertson what is the truth".

There are a couple of followers/supporters there one goes by the name jrhoust. A comment there was It seems Johnny Robertson does not answers questions either. jrhoust replied to this comment by saying the person was the child of the devil.

Jrhoust posted QUOTE:
All he does is answer questions. You are definitely of your father the devil the father of all liars.

All these people seem to do is call others liars but to tell someone their father is the devil is a horrible thing to say to a person. My father is not the devil

This will be hard for you because you will have to go check it out with the pope. The context of the scripture you quoted was the people in the church. Oh yeah that is what the church actually is the saved people that are a body of believers. It addresses the Elders and Deacons of the church (which your group does not have) and their conduct and qualification then states this. 14 Although I hope to come to you soon, I am writing you these instructions so that, 15 if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church(Y) of the living God,(Z) the pillar and foundation of the truth. So the people are to conduct themselves so that they can be seen as the pillar of truth. Wonder how these could know this if this were not read to them. Because it was written.

Johnny Robertson insist that their church [oops I mean place they meet for worship] is not a denomination. They readily admit that the Lord’s people were described by various terms, such as, Christians, saints, firstborn ones, etc., but they cling to one designation – Church of Christ [oops I mean “church of Christ” with a little “c’… that big “C” is too liberal]
Everything that characterizes the denominations of the world (those claiming to follow Christ), are found in the church of Christ: Corporate body, organization, membership, Church buildings, clergy, worship-services, etc.
Johnny maintains that it would be scriptural to use all of the above designations, but in practice he utilizes only one. Look for the sign over the door or in front of the building and you will find their name; advertisements in the paper or in the phone book carry their name; many congregations send out advertising brochures which carry their name; and many use letterheads and envelopes that bear their name – church of Christ. This is to distinguish them from the Church of God, the Baptist Church the Presbyterian Church, the Methodist Church, the Catholic Church, etc. It is inconsistent and hypocritical to contend that the church of Christ was not a denomination, when in fact it was – like all the rest.
Johnny is narrow-minded and bigoted, thinking that only those of his particular brand of church of Christ-ism will be saved. In fact, there are over twenty different sects among those wearing the church of Christ name and claiming to be the “one true Church.” They usually do not fellowship with each other. Often, they will not call on a person from another church of Christ to lead in prayer, lead the congregational singing, or take part in the “services” in some other way. Some preachers will go so far as to insist that a person desiring membership be re-baptized if they come from another type of church of Christ. I suppose if someone starts their own church, they can establish their own rules and regulations to govern it – right Johnny?
God never intended any man, or group of men, to hold a position “OVER” others, and to exercise special authority by which to “RULE” them. Johnny should SERVE and TEACH others, being EXAMPLES of sonship to God. He should do all this without a dispensation of “divine authority.”
According to Jesus, not even the apostles would “exercise authority” over the people of God.“Ye know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. NOT SO SHALL IT BE AMONG YOU”(Matt. 20:25-26). This is very significant. If Jesus emphatically withheld “divine authority” from the apostles, surely, He did not delegate it Johnny Robertson.
Johnny Robertson is obsessed with the desire for power. He desires to control every detail of his group’s activities, as well as tell each individual where and when they can “go to church”; how they should dress for the assembly; and what they can do in their work and play.
Johnny’s congregation relies on him to do everything,“because, after all, he is getting paid to do the work.” Johnny loves the lime-light and allows brethren to hold him up on a pedestal. He calls all the shots; does most of the teaching and preaching, debates: and everyone insists “we do not have a clergy system.” Does this sound inconsistent to you?
Would you go so far as to say he is attempting to be a cult leader??

A lot of CoC here are also "studying" the book. Needless to say, I had to look at the negative book reviews first;-)

If CoC would just do as the faithful Bereans and study to see if Paul taught the truth according to Jesus Christ, Moses and God - they might be better off.

But we all know they can't question lies taught in the name of God.

"Cult" is such an over used word that it's basically without any true distinction other than to say this one doesn't see things as that one.

If I were a Jew at that Pentecost and heard what Peter said then you can bet that I would have. Those people witnessed the death of their long-prophesied messiah and had a hand in killing him. Peter's exhortation is a murder indictment against the Jews, and he tells them to repent of what they did and own up to it. Repentance for them wasn't some admonition to "stop sinning and get right with the Lord by not sinning anymore," as any hack Church of Christ preacher will try to get you believe regarding what repentance actually is.
But since I am not a Jew, nor was I there at that Pentecost, I would not obey it, since the Acts 2 sermon isn't written to the likes of me. Or you. Or any one else alive today.
You really believe that man can kill God?

Christians are called to be disciples of Jesus Christ - not Johnny Robertson or Billy Graham or Joseph Smith.

Johnny does tread pretty close to being a "Mister Know-It-All" as was on Rockey and Bullwinkle;-), but I think he really believes what he says.

Johnny Robertson's TV show is setup to always win no matter what. It's kind of like the claw machines, though some claw machines are legit and you might win a prize such as a stuffed bear or some ear phones, Johnny's claw is setup to no matter how much you play you keep losing. Johnny's TV show is his claw machine, the format is setup to where Johnny has the advantage and the win, it's no different than the old Jerry Springer show, no matter what the guests say or call Jerry, Jerry has the last laugh and the win because it is Jerry's show.
Let me give you some examples, when Johnny occasionally debates baptist preachers, the baptist preachers he debates has dirt on them, and when the baptist preacher is finished after say 15 mins of speaking and it is Johnny's turn he starts playing clips of the dirt and the he adds some scripture in with the dirt. See you can't win on Johnny's show because it is his claw machine, and the claw is setup to win every time. This is why you don't ever see footage of Johnny in a church building, behind a pulpit taking turns to debate, no, he only debates when he has the footage ready to play to show you as a no good scum bag and old Johnny sits back with a smile on his face. Which actually means Johnny is pretty smart when it comes to running a con, he would make a great used auto salesman.
