John 10:15-27. Jesus makes a distinction between sheep

>>> Who he laid down his life for, and thus, who were able to believe <<<

and the Pharisees (Who were unable to believe, not chosen, and who Christ did not die for.)

**********

John 10:26-27, the

>>> REASON <<<

the Pharisees cannot believe is because THEY ARE NOT SHEEP, which, looking at John 10:15, we see that this is because Christ did not lay down his life for them

John 6:37-44. Jesus says that all the Father

>>> GIVES him <<<

will come to him. Who is giving them? The Father. Who chooses? The Father. It is simply ridiculous to claim that man has a choice when the bible clearly shows the Father doing the choosing. Sure you may choose God but only because he first chose you.

**********

Romans 9:19-22 answers any objections of any of us who think this is "unfair". Who are we to talk back to God???!!!

1 John 2:19 They went out from us,

>>> but <<<

THEY WERE NOT OF US

for if they had been of us, they ... they would have remained with us.

John can not be any clearer as to say that real saved people remain saved and part of the family of God. Going out isn’t a slip a slide like the backslider or wayward Christian. No sir.

The going out here is one of permanence. A leaving that reveals they were fakes and frauds lingering around Gods family when they didn’t belong to begin with. All of those that God gives to Jesus come to Jesus. Those that come to Jesus speaks of a permanent act not a coming that will end up lost because Jesus loses nothing but raises it up the last day.

Those of this discussion board enter his rest and stop believing you maintain your salvation some how. Only God can save you thus it be only God that could unsave you. How dare mere men boast they can undo a work of God. What mockery of the blood of Jesus to say its not good enough to keep you pure before God the father.

The words of our Lord,

IT IS FINISHED!!!!!!

Either believe Jesus saves and only has the power to save by his blood and resurrection or keep trying to earn your way to heaven. You choice friends

During the Last Supper (Passover Meal), three cups of wine were consumed. In Jewish Tradition, 4 cups had to be drunk or the Passover ceremony was incomplete.
Later, Jesus prayed: "Father, if you are willing, take this cup away from me; still, not my will but yours be done." Luke 22:42
On the Cross, He said "I thirst" and was given sour wine, which would be the 4th Passover cup. After Jesus drank, He said, "it is finished".

Israel today has very few practicing jews and in fact most of the population does not even have a religion. The one thing they are not is muslim. The hatred for the Jews has never stopped throughout the ages.

I am wondering if you stand with the Jews today? Catholics and some American denominations are still antisemitic. Personally I support their right to exist. I had a visit a couple of years back with two young Jewish people in their early 20's. They were here on visa and were going back soon. They told me that they had very little hope of growing old -they were expecting the worst, sooner rather than later.

The people that call themselves Jews today are exactly like the apostate Jews of Jesus day, who would not repent and get out of that worthless religion. Israel today is not the Israel of God.

Nice people for the most part, but stuck in a religion that will not save. The long-prophesied Jewish Messiah is Jesus Christ and they killed him. This is Peter's entire admonition of Acts 2 at Pentecost.

Forgive me if I have the wrong impression, but your reply seems a bit antisemitic. Btw, there are modern Jews who are christian.

There is neither Jew nor Greek (gentile) today for them that belong to the Body of Christ.

A Jew is a law keeper. Can't have both law and grace.

All of you protesters are an excuse to swim the Tiber. Common sense says Jesus was not the author of mass confusion and the unity of Diversity.

A person that has never heard of the Bible, would listen to all of you and throw in the garbage.

Wait a minute, how can you all read the same words and come up with something different?

Calvin your attitude is no different than those of the "left footers" (what is that about anyway?) You argue about.

You're just as dogmatic as they are. Just as wrong on some things as they are. Same boat we are all in.

I will side with you that we all fit holes of disagreement no argument on that from me. Still Left-footers http://www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/qu... are so far away they do not fit the same place as most of us for they teach a salvation that is earns a spot in heaven for which as you know Paul put asunder to the Galatians. To add slop to their already spoiled meal they make up teachings like Mary being co-redeemer with Jesus even ask that she forgive sin. This is not simple disagreement at all but an injustice to the work of our Lord and makes mockery of his death.

"Wait a minute, how can you all read the same words and come up with something different? "

Mike, if all the catholic popes were on the same page all of the time, you might have something to boast about. Homosexuality and pedophilia runs unchecked in your church and you try to ignore it. Now tell us again about the perfect church which has the power to save.

The reason why we need a savior is because none of us are perfect...

Name something that in the areas of faith and morals, which pertain to salvation, that any Pope since Peter has disagreed on?
Jesus created the perfect Church. The men in it are sinners. Jesus promised he would protect his Church from all evil and he has.
Evil from within, invading armies and and the thousands of heresies like Protestantism for 2000 years.
Does your book say that? Jesus would protect his Church from all evil
As for as pedophilia, statistics show families are the worst . Fathers especially Are you a Father. What right do you have to speak for God when you are a father and fathers are the leading pedophiles..

I am not going to bother looking that info up about the good popes-bad popes again. You have no excuse for pedophilia but to say it happens all the time. We are talking about men who are supposed to be perfect enough to forgive sin/infallible. In protestant churches when that happens we throw them out of office. But, catholics have no power to do that.

There is only 1 Church. What you have is non Catholic ecclesial community.

There were some bad Popes so don't look but there have been none since Peter who has changed anything relating to our salvation.

Same things the Apostles taught by written letter and orally.

2000 years. What a great Church Jesus started.

You Catholics should not be so hard on yourselves. True, Catholic Fathers are leading pedophiles but there are others out there. Not all pedophiles are in the Catholic church. only the majority.

Pedophilia has been going on forever. The sinners in the Church brought it to the public eye.

Please show me the statistics where the Church has the majority.

You are are a liar.

In fact, a child is far more likely to be sexually abused by a married relative–a father, uncle or sn older brother

Look it up. Insurance company rates for the Church is no more than any other organization and less than many.

Those protester communities with large youth groups pay the most for insurance because that is where the risk is.

Do some research before you make statements that make you look ignorant.

Ignorant? Did the insurance companies foot the bill for the Catholic church or did they pay it from the "Lords money"? If a insurance company had to shell out the money the church would have to cooperate with investigators. So thanks for doing your part in paying your tithes and supporting the cover-up. A normal church without that much money could not have gotten away with this as long as the Catholics did. I heard the offering dropped dropped considerably as did attendance after this scandal, has it picked back up?
