Far Hills Race Meeting set for this weekend to go on despite rain

Come on out to the Far Hills Race Meeting at Moorland Farms on Saturday, Oct. 17, but come prepared, advises Kathleen Roberts of Somerset Medical Center, which since the 1950s has been the beneficiary of the annual daylong event featuring championship steeplechase races.

The FHRM committee needs to consider and re-evaluate having a contigency plan in the advent of inclement weather. The rain or shine policy is beginning to frustrate many long time participants; my recollection is that in the past 5 years, we've only had 1 year of agreeable weather. I recognize the significant financial committment by caterers et all. With the rain or shine policy, the only real beneficiary is the FHRM. Gimme an opp to opt-out and monies return.
