I think they would owe us a large sum of money. After all would we not be made to do the same. Are maybe their are the elite few that can get away with illegal behavoir. Are maybe they cut a deal with the last adminstraion when if I remember was Mayor Lejeune who was president of the Chamber before she became Mayor. And was also, accuse of misapproprating monies. Maybe that was the pay back for not telling on her. Free Utilities forever. Until the New Mayor came to town. They thought he was to stupid to find out about the free utilities. Well guess he fooled them. Cake is on their face. Now pay your bills like the rest of us.

The agreement with the city has been in place for 60 years. No one other than Bob has accused the previous administration of anything and when he got in office he could find no inappropriate dealings!

Has anyone looked into what other cities do? Almost all Chambers pay their own power bills because their Chamber employee gets out and HUSTLES to get money coming in for both the Chamber and the city.

Most chambers have more than one employee, so they can get out and try to get more members. Most chambers work together with the city governments and it isn't unusual for them to even be housed in city hall.

Sounds like this Chamber needs to concentrate on making their Chamber a better business. Since all they have is one employee. They certainly don't have a right to tell other people how to run their businesses or even try to encourage other business to locate in Eunice, when they don't pay their own way. Start first at home they venture elsewhere chamber

Chambers don't tell people how to run their businesses. It is hard to encourage anything in this city with what we have as mayor.

What was the reason for not having business relocate before bob became mayor? Was it Lynn's fault. Because this town has be dropping in population for a long time and bob was no where around. Its not the mayor's fault. Its the people's fault that business want come here. Just look at how everyone acts in such disrespect towards those in authority even after the mijority voted this mayor in office. Besides they had a chance to recall him twice. If he is disliked so much then what does anyone care if he finds out are if their name is on the recall list. I think its just a bunch of trouble makers keeping this going on because they are sore loosers and can't make the mayor do what they want. I admire him for that at least. He want be intimiadated or pushed into doing what a few cry babies want him to do. So just keept watching.

Inquire-the "mijority" as you call it did not elect him mayor. It was the lack of people voting at all that made him mayor. He is a snake in the grass that slithers thru our city. He will be stopped. So you just keep watching.

all the same he was elected mayor of Eunice. I think it was a 53% vote if I recall. You can't change the fact that he is here to stay. Two recalls have failed and so for the next 3 years he is mayor. I don't care if he is here or not. All I said was that I feel that the chamber should pay its own utilities. There are alot of people who do work for the city I think its called community envolvement but, we don't pay their utilites they do this for the betterment of the city. Why can't the chamber pull its own load I pay enough in taxes for those who don't work or freeloaders. I feel that the chamber is an enity of its own. The city does not hire its employees nor does the city pay their salaries nor can the city tell them what to do or how to run the Chamber. So that means since the people we elect can not tell the chamber the peoples desires or wishes then we should not pay its bills. No one tell me how to run my business so I run it as I please. And at the same time I pay my own utilites. There are plenty of people and community projects that benefit the city but again we don't pay their utilites or other bills nor do the taxpayers have any say in their programs. If the chamber wants its bill paid for by the taxpayers of Eunice then they should answer to the taxpayers. We should be able to elect president of the chamber or hire who the person we elect to support our business. If I understand this their is an one year annual fee charged by the business that are members of the chamber let them pay the utilites since I have no say unless I become a member and pay a fee. I already pay taxes at the business that the chamber represents is that not enough that you have to use the taxes from the city as well as the taxes we already pay on mechandise. Its seems like they are double dipping. They get a fee plus get their utilites paid by the taxpayers for a service they provide. I am tired of my taxes paying for services. I beleive in Less Government intervention. The government should provide only the infrastrucure and maintance on roads, sewage, and drainage. I don't think the city should be involved in recreation because not everyone uses the 2.6 million dollar baseball complex. Remember that was not the present mayors doings. That was the previous adminstraions discussion and stupid one might I say since its not even in St Landry Parish. So we pay taxes to another parish thats stupid. Talk about sending money out of the city limits thats one the chamber should have spoken to Lynn about when that discussion was made. She and her previous adminstration sent money flying right over to acadia parish. You talk about bob not caring about business that was stupid why did'nt you do something about that or maybe Lynn was paying the chamber bill and that was ok. As for as I have heard bob has not turned the electricy off or has he? Besides leave him alone maybe their or more people than you think that feels bob is doing a good job. You'll sound like a bunch of cry babies.

remote/inquire..er Bob.. Youre an idiot! Instead of helping the Chamber to promote business in this town, you try to condemn! They only have one employee because they operate on a small budget. The rest of the people on the board volunteer their time an effort to make this city respectable in spite of your overwhelming attempts to make us look like the retarded, inbred child locked in the basement of our shamed parents home! This chamber, just like others, operates on dues paid by businesses willing to stand and make a difference in our town. For a mayor to publicly try to avenge his own personal vendetta by taking it out on an entity like the chamber is a down right shame!Because you don't like people on the board, or because they tried to get signs lit up to further promote this city without kneeling and kissing your ring, you strike out against them? Is the monthly utility bill, or the measly 10-12 bucks a month for a sign as financially crippling as the fiasco fair at the ballpark, or many other frivolous purchases you made to warm biscuits or accessorize your truck, or better yet, a futon for the rec department so much worse? When you cut your budget again, and save all this money, where will the businesses be to provide your sales tax revenue? Your right, other chambers probably do pay their own utilities, but then again... they have mayors in their towns that SUPPORT them and business growth!

quiet power, you are so right. I would like to know exactly how much the recreation fair lost. I would also like to know exactly how much has been lost since the rec department was turned over to bob and his puppets. I know it has to be quite a bit more that the cost of lighting 4 signs advertising our city.

I hear the Chamber is installing utility meters and paying for their own sewage. Thanks chamber for doing the right thing. You should pay your own way thats what other enities have to do. Check the regulations on non-profit organizations in reference to Chambers. It should not have been paid by the taxpayers this was wrong. Some non-profit organization don't have to pay taxes but all have to pay their own utilites. Seems the president of the chamber must have checked with his lawyer friends and choose not to fight the city on this issue. They should have paid the welcome lights themselves it would have been cheaper for them instead of trying to make the mayor look bad because he choose not to pay for the welcome lights. It has now flipped on them and I know their utilites will be must more exspensive than a few welcome lights. They should have done the right thing from the beginning. Taxpayers have no say or vote on the chamber's business or on who's President, so why should we pay for their utilites? The organization is suppose to bring in business and promote the city of Eunice not get a free ride on their utilities. Their are alot of people who do good for the city and don't get free utilites paid. You say other Chambers or housed in the city hall of other towns well thats wrong if they have given the chamber housing and utilites. Lets all go and setup our business at city hall maybe my bills will get paid. Chamber checked into this situation and found out they were wrong thats why they have choosen to pay their way. The excuse was they felt the council had so much to deal with that this issue did not need to be brought up again. How humble these people are and thoughtful to the council and mayor. That they were thinking of them and not themselves. Maybe if they are that humble and thoughtful they should pay back to the citizens of Eunice what they have used in the past however many years they have muched on the taxpayers.

You have no idea what you are talking about remote. The Chamber was not wrong, but in order to end bob's (& yours if the truth be told, since we all know who you are)garbage and focus on getting the city back to where it needs to be the Chamber chose to drop it. You are still a fool!!!

I am not the mayor. But, I am someone who can have a opinion. I have not called you names like a spoiled childish brat like you. I have stated my opinion and thoughts. You on the other hand have called me a fool. I have never called you names. I only asked what type of business you had and at liberty stated the type I thought you had. Since then you have called me names and insist that I am the mayor. It must be very important to you to know who you are communicating with. So maybe you should not use this method of communication with real adults since you are so childish.

I don't know all the inside information like remote does, all I know is that our mayor is an idiot if he does not support his local chamber and businesses. Hooray to our city council for stepping up and slamming this incompetent boob! Did you see him at the council meeting? I bet he never washes his handsome little uniform! So important is the city that he can't let an assistant finish his game? Hollering and screaming at one of his city's own over practice time at a ball field??!! If he cared HALF as much for his city as he does trying to live his life through his kid, we'd be a leading city for business and industry! Thanks for setting our city BACKWARDS bob! Oh, good luck on the ballfield...just remeber though, you DO have a city to run!

remote: You did resort to name calling. Just because you put it in the form of a type of business doesn't change that fact. Add to that is your last naming calling: spoiled childist brat. That is mature and so adult of you! The only reason one would reply to you is because of the entertainment you provide with your ignorant rants. Fool may not be the true word for you. I do believe that imbecile would better fit.(Itsn't it amazing that imbecile fits remote, inquire, and bob)

Now come on Business Owner... How can you honestly sit there and say that this mayor name calls? Just because he called the former mayor and alderwoman pigs, or called the entire former council crooked, dishonest and paid off doesn't constitute him being a "name caller." Maybe calling one of his police officers (who, by the way is a great guy) a racial slur, or calling a great city attorney a liar, a law breaker, and a thief... Now THAT may be regarded as a name caller!! Next time, please refrain from calling him a name caller. It hurts the idiot's feelings!Oh!, and by the way... his hard work on the sewer system doesn't look like it's paying off.. the biggest turd is still in the city!!!!

Yeah! And you'll deserved every name he called you PIGS, crooks, corrupt all fit and I am sorry you forgot MORAN. That was the best one of all. Especially Mrs, Pam Wood. Shes the one who threw herself on the floor at the council meeting. The Mayor wanted the Cheif to escort her out because of her Outburst. So became so stupid and out of control she threw herself on the floor. Thats real stable...... See what he deals with idiots. You forgot that one or maybe MORAN fits her better.
