Only in Eastern KY would something so cruel and ignorant happen. So many good people live in KY but it has more than its fair share of whackos.

Don't belive it was ky people that did it. Mexicans drug dealer are now in there growing pot so they don'have to ship it into the U.S. People there don't want to mess up there way of making money.

AP sources: Suicide eyed in census worker case
WASHINGTON (AP)- Investigators probing the death of a Kentucky census worker found hanging from a tree with the word "fed" scrawled on his chest increasingly doubt he was killed because of his government job and are pursuing the possibility he committed suicide, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press. |

That's Kentucky! I read were some one shot his self 6 times up there. They come up with some good ones. That is were I come from. Have a great day. |

I don't know if I understand your post Jim. Are you saying Kentucky made this up and gave it to the Associated Press? What about your theory of Mexican drug dealers?

You would have to live there to understand. The law there will tell anything but the truth. Do some reseach on clay county Ky. Take care |

Born in Rockcastle County, raised in Madison County, lived in Jefferson and Nelson counties and been in Fayette County for three years. Have friends from Hazard, Pikeville, Hindman and Little Leatherwood so I understand Kentucky very well.
Whatever the reason this poor man is dead. A needless death for sure. I hope that law enforcement are calling it suicide to just close the case and move on. Justice needs to be served. Have a great day Jim. |

My heart goes out to his son and family.
From what I read there is no way this is a suicide. Census Department would prefer it be that so that they can continue to hire people to work in that area. Mr Sparkman was conducting the census in an area with rough terrain and crazy people. Between the drugs and hatered for federal goverment(that is only heightened with the race of our present president), I think it was a murder. I have studied the Eastern KY area extensively because we have mineral rights there. I don't know much about Clay County but evidence of corruption/cover-up/votes being purchased/unsolved murders are pretty common in that area of the country and have been forever. I'd hire a private detective. Also check the aerial view of the area to see if you can spot in Meth productiion shacks. Poor guy probably came across some local operation. I think it was in Clay Co. that 3 of the courthouse people had a little shoot out at the corner store just recently. It is another world, for sure. Good Luck and God Bless. |

Clay co. has some crazy people. It has alot of good people also. I worked there for 2 years. They ship alot of coal out of there. They don't care much for the law. They take care of things there self. But they do have alot more freedom than most people. They do what they want to. Buld what they want. when they want to. No codes there! If you are not from that part of KY. It can be a bad place to be.

Pursue - I think everyone thought pretty much what you are saying. The guy stumbled upon some illegal action and was killed so he would not report it. I don't know who or why it is being labeled a suicide other than to close the case.
I think we should all remember his family when we pray. |

That was the excuse for why diffrent ethnic groups of people were treated in the south prior to civil rights. Culture and past practice was used for years to fight civil rights and equal treatment under the law. Just because something has been done for years does not make it right or legal. |
||||
All I can say is go up there and what you can do with them. Just because you past a law don't make people live by it. Not up there any way. Have a great day! |

1 All it takes is for national attention and the calls to start hitting at national level and the area falls under a "BIG" microscope. The options of ignoring the law or making your own are no longer avalible. |
