To the best of my understanding Oklahoma has an obscenity law. The use of f~~k or derivatives in the presence of women or children.

One of my relatives called Bartlesville PD to attempt to have Tim Atkinson removed from her property. I was on the phone with the relative for the duration. There were 3 BPD officers present (2 males and 1 female)while this man was intoxicated and shouting F and MF towards this female relative. Not only did they not check this man's driver's license, blood/alcohol level, but blue it off as a civil matter. Based on his language in front of 3 city cops alone should have been reason for and obscenity arrest. I guess the obscenity law isn't enforced in Bartlesville. Most anyone else who didn't do their job (especially in the present state of our economy) would be seeking a employment elsewhere for not doing their job.

Evidently if you allow someone to stay in a room in your home for a few week because they have no place to go they can claim residence and have to be evicted. Again...That's Bartlesville. Try to help someone and they put a knife in your back. You call the police for assistance and they twist the knife. So, pretty much my whole family now has the attitude that no matter how badly another is in need we would not urinate on them if they were on fire.

This attitude concerning language is nothing but an infringement on the right to free speech. Don't like the language, don't listen!

Wrong!! Freedom of speech is your right to convey your thoughts and ideas via speech. It is subjected to limitations of obscenity, libel, slander, hate speech, and the inticement to commit a crime. Freedom is not a free pass to say what ever you want, you still have to live with in the laws and the obscenity law is valid in the state of Oklahoma. Take a government class!

If it is Freedom of speech then why are people being jailed for Terroristic Threats? They are conveying their thoughts too! On that note Oklalahoma is more forgiving hat other states in that in that makig a threat you have to clarify how you are going to inflict bodily harm (unless it has changed). In Minnesota ALL you have to do is utter "I'm going to kill you" to another and they will cuff and stuff you, the victim will be contacted daily to ensure they will be at the court hearing to aggressively prosicute the person whom made the threat. FYI: Minnesota has been prosecuting for "terroristic threats" a decade before others began throwing that term all over the place like it was something new in the wake of 9-1-1.
