That is just heartless. Why in the world would someone post such a hateful thing. I knew Cooper personally and watched him grow. He is one of us an officer and he was part of our law enforcement family. But of course you probably hate cops too. A K-9 and his partner have a close bond and we as officers along side of them as well. So yes people should care that we have lost one of our own. He was an amazing dog and great asset to our department. He will and is missed.
Work dogs have been used in every aspect of life from helping the disabled, rescue, military ops, and in law enforcement. Not only was Cooper a drug dog but he also was a tracker and he has tracked many crooks in the woods that might have gotten away. So next time you see a K-9 you should thank their partners (handler) for all the time and hard work they put into the dog.
We love you Cooper and you are so missed. Watch over us as we keep the streets safe.

BPG Officer, I am so sorry for the loss of officer Cooper. My husband and I had to have our buddy put to sleep two years ago due to cancer. We had Brewster for almost 12 years and he was truly "our little buddy." I still miss him very much, he was part of our family. So, I understand your loss. You guys have lost one of "your little buddies."

They post because they do not understand. When people ask, why I do it, I don't say a damn word. I am very sorry for the loss. It is like losing your own child. My thoughts and prayers are with the BPD, and most especially, his handler. I am very sorry.

Wait a minute, you do realize "officer Cooper" was a DOG, right?
I love dogs as much as anyone (I have 3 adopted ones right now) but I OBJECT to them being used to further the corrupt 'war on drugs' that screws regular people and enriches dirtbags who confiscate their property.
What the [email protected] are you talking about, dog/person he was an officer of the law mind you....trained to serve and protect YOU.

Maybe people who claim they live in Georgia and are possibly on the run regarading drug charges do not care, be we law abiding people near the Bartlesville area do care. These dogs are highly trained and often put their lives on the line for their handler. I wonder why you use a Georgia address and keep up on the news on Oklahoma. Is that so you know when it is safe to come back? I am sure there is a gang waiting to kill you or you would be here. Oh, by the way, you cannot out run a warrant either.
Just to remember how backwoods you are and why all my life I hated it there, as for being in a gang, I'm 41 and I came out long before your problem, sorry, no gang activity in my life. This is a statement to you and anyone else who has something to say, it was a dog, get over it, it's not news.Like I said, "who cares". By the way, no warrants either buddy, I vote and pay taxes.

You idiots who bash the police are the same idiots that run and hide from danger and call the police when you need help. I suggest if you don't like police officers and think they are worthless, overpaid, crooks, etc.... don't ever call them for assistance. If your car gets stolen, find it yourself. If a real criminal points a gun in your face and takes your last two dollars, don't call the police run, chase after the suspect, dodge his bullets, wrestle the sweaty drugged up criminal, place him in handcuffs, place the stinky POS inside your car, let him spit on you as you put him in your car and transport him to jail yourself and he yells and cussing at you telling you it's all your fault. While your at it, fill out the necessary paperwork, collect and turn in all evidence without making a single mistake and prepare yourself to testify in court 2 years later and remember every detail. Then go home and sleep a few hours, get up and do it again!!! I so much appreciate the citizens who actually care and understand. I enjoy helping you and yes I took and oath to protect your life with my life if need be. I bet these police bashers wouldn't protect your life with their life if need be, they probably wouldn't even testify in court as a witness on your behalf.

To the family of Officer Cooper...You have lost a beautiful member of your family and the city of Bartlesville has lost a fine protector! God loves all creatures in His creation...that includes DOGS!
May you be at peace in knowing this...our companion animals go to heaven too. If you get a chance to read a book by Elizabeth Coatsworth, titled: All Cats Go to Heaven. It is an award winning book (Caldecott, 1922?). It is well worth the read and has offered comfort to me through the years when I have lost a special family member...Bartholomew, Judy, Lollipop, Babe, Spot, Freckles (dogs) and Rocky & George (ferrets)! May they all enjoy romping in the Elysian fields forever!

I am particularly impressed by the attitude of the Police Chief and partner of the K-9, and grieve for the loss of life of the dog, and the pain of those who cared for him.
