Try it both ways, one of them will work.

It's not rocket science.

Like it's so freakin hard to press 3 more numbers, are you really that lazy? Furthermore,if you're calling from a cell phone, most of the calls you make are stored in your phone anyways and you don't have to push more than 2 or 3 numbers anyway.

I think you're just whining for the sake of whining.

Well, I'm glad that they voted to assign the new area code to new numbers when 918 runs out. I think splitting the 918 area into two codes and forcing people with existing numbers to switch area codes would have been too costly (new business cards, stationery, new ads, etc.)

People have plenty of time to reprogram their phones, and add the area codes to numbers they aready have programmed into their phones, and update their cell phone directories before the new area code goes into effect.

NOT! Did you ever realize that this "savings" you claim is lost if re-printing things wtih 10 digits... ever notice how many signs or things only show 7 digits? What about the cost of re-programming PBXes...

The cost factor is a wash... it's going to cost either way! The confusion factor and hassle factor are the important things but guess what... those where ignore on a short term basis for the long term one.

Time to replace 2 OCC members!!!

Jebusfokingchrist, you can't take yes for an answer. I suppose you have a better solution, Einstein? You ought to let them know how to increase the available numbers without adding another prefixd, you would be famous in both phone and mathematical circles!

Good God! Really, you people are crying over 10-digit dialing? I'm glad I won't be tossing 800 or so business cards in the trash or having to get new vehicle signage. This was the right move. Besides I tend to give out my number area code first, now I will be impressing people instead of getting dumb looks. If you get around or call around, you learn to think in 10-digits. Get out of the box.

Funny thing is everyone who has lazily stored 7 digit numbers in their cell phones. They're in for fun. Of course this is america, so it's not like anyone will still have their current cell-phone when this becomes mandatory.
