No nation on earth has EVER spent it's way to a prosperous lifestyle...maybe in a Socialist/Communist nation...if you were in command (Government).
Raising taxes before cutting spending is like bailing water in a sinking ship without repairing the holes!

The Raiding of Social Security

by Allen W. Smith / December 8th, 2009

The previous raiding of the trust fund by Presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton was despicable. However, at that time, the issue had never been subjected to a public debate where the American people could speak out on it. That all changed as a result of the 2000 campaign and election. Every American who cast a vote for either Bush or Gore had a right to expect that the era of raiding the Social Security trust fund was over.
..........
Watching this pre-planned by both parties of the "Over the Fiscal Cliff" on the news is telling everyone both parties have sold the working Americans out to pitch a One World Order and thrust every citizens into two classes, the Elite class and the ones subservient to them, the poor class.

Beware of both parties, they never had a thought about our well being, just slaves to keep working for them to enhance their life style and pad their bank accounts.

Today, the news stated Both parties have come to an agreement of taxing the rich but $400,000 is not the rich. Although as the first time when Obama agree to spending cuts it never happen and now the news indicate spending cuts is on hold.

The dems are doing the damage to America while the Repubs. look on and do nothing.

The Development of Social Security in America

This article examines the historical origins and legislative development of the U.S. Social Security program. Focusing on the contributory social insurance program introduced in title II of the Social Security Act of 1935, the article traces the major amendments to the original program and provides an up-to-date description of the major provisions of the system. The article concludes with a brief overview of the debate over the future of the program, and it provides a summary assessment of the impact and importance of Social Security as a central pillar of the U.S. social welfare system.

You don't owe me shit for your comment about John McCain, you do owe every combat vet in America an apology!
First of all, I myself am a veteran and have even been involved with action. I was in the Persian Gulf on the USS Carl Vinson in the summer of 1996 when we bombed Baghdad. The joke I made about McCain (however tasteless) was just a joke... and his condition is not related to his combat experience. You're acting like I slighted the entire armed forces or joked around about someone's combat injuries. Give me a f*cking break and stop being such a drama queen.

I remember Obama reading thank you to himself from the teleprompter instead of thanking his opponent.

I remember, Obama saying he visit all 57 states in America.
(I think he was confused with the 57 nations of islam, his heart still remains with the muslim countries).

I remember, Obama giving a shout out to our marine corpses instead of corp.

I remember, times when he tried his best not to read from the teleprompter and all you heard was er, er, uh, uh, uh, duh, duh.

Sad isn't this, this is just a few of the times.

The Social Security Act

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 14, 1935, the Social Security Act* became law above President Franklin D. Roosevelt`s signature. The Social Security Act is one of the truly momentous legislative accomplishments in United States history. Enacted in the throes of the Great Depression, it was a sweeping bill that generated an array of programs to aid numerous groups of Americans. The law got its title from the groundbreaking social insurance program designed to provide a steady income for retired workers aged 65 or older.

Background

When English-speaking colonists arrived in North America, they were steeped in the notions and practices they knew in England, including the "Poor Laws." The original colonial poor laws emulated the Elizabethan Poor Law of 1601. They stressed local taxation to support the impoverished and all relief was a local obligation. Town elders determined who was eligible for relief (or subject to punishment for laziness) and how it would be meted out. Prevailing American attitudes toward poverty relief were usually dubious, and governmental involvement was slight

Poverty, Work, and “The People” in Locke’s Political Thought
1
Emily C. Nacol
Department of Political Science, Vanderbilt University
The Society for the Humanities, Cornell University
In The Solidarity of Strangers, Lynn Lees recasts the English poor laws as a
dynamic set of welfare practices rooted in the basic assumption that to be an individual
in the natural and political world is to be vulnerable and at risk. Communities, she
argues, have a broader pool of resources to protect individual members from suffering,
but the political problem is always the struggle to answer the questions,“Should they?
For whom? And against what?”(Lees 1998, 1). For Lees, the poor laws, while codified
and revised extensively in national pieces of legislation over several centuries, were
often best understood as a set of local social practices involving face-to-face interactions
among the haves and the have-nots, practices in which the content of rightful claims of
need and corresponding duties and obligation were worked out among members of a
community.

Cantor and the Repubs haven't done one thing to get America back to work. They are the party of government obstructionism and only solution to anything is tax breaks for the rich . Republican policy got the country so far in debt in the first place. Bush and the republicans who imposed all of the tax cuts on the rich and pushed for the war in Iraq which has cost over a trillion dollars. It was Bush and the republicans who deregulated the banks to the point where we had the lending melt down that led to the worst recession since the Great Depression.

Just think Kentucky is led by a democrat gov. and since he has taken over, our budget is the worse.

KY is known as a "dead state", one of eleven states in America know as a "dead state".

Dead state is when you have a revenue problem due to the entitlement takers. Meaning, just est. now, 100 people may be working and earning a living but 250 people are living off of it.

To ask why, contact Gov. Beshear, he will of course have a lie or two to spin and while he stands in front of the church where he went as a little boy with his daddy and continues to go to it.

I have a problem with someone telling me what a church goer they are while pushing the gambling casinos and getting jobs for his supporters and their family.

They even had our veterans on a report stating Kerry wasn't even there where he lied about our troops.

Just think, Obama wants this kind of man for Sec. of State...Obama knows a thug when he appoints them, doesn't he.
