Why not put T-Bone on the list? He might bring some business to the county. I hear he brings a lot to Locust Grove.

Well, you got two of the four names right, and Steve Scalf (registered as a Republican) isn't one of them. Just so you know, the replacement has to be a Democrat (because Kenny was elected as a Democrat) and names will be forwarded to the Governor's office by the Nicholas County Democrat Party Executive Committee.

It would be a dream to have a republican running this county..... These dumbass democrats have run it into the ground.

Why call the names of all of the judge Wanna-bees? Doesn't one name fit them all?(Except for three or four, that are embarrassed that their names were included on that list), Wouldn't the "N.C. A-Holes" just fit the whole bunch?

Don't forget Kathy Pettit and Tracy Jones. They definately belong on this list. Either one of them could get the new court house built. I think they would build it in Green Valley.
All jokes aside, Nicholas County needs a new Court House! The Court Room, should be accessible to handicapped and elderly persons. They should not be treated like second class citizens. They should not have to sit in an uncomfortable place or stand for a long time, waiting to see a judge. Our new Judge Executive should make the Courthouse project his top poiority!

While I 100% agree with most of what you said, I 100% disagree that NC needs a "new" courthouse! The one we have can be renovated. We have been offered the grants for a "justice center" but they grants cover cost to build, not operating costs. Then you have the old court house that needs/has to be up kept. The justice centers in Bourbon, Harrison, & Fleming counties (mainly naming counties that border us) are great but have created problems with strains on the county budgets. You have to hire people to man the entrance, you have to hire janitorial, you have the utilities, and on and on. Then you have the old court house that has the bills that come with it. You are taking care of 2 "court/county" related buildings and that is a drain on the budget that NC cannot afford at all. The old court house can be renovated by adding an elevator on the side of the building like I have seen on many buildings, older historical ones. It can be done with a look to compliment the old court house while still keeping the historical aspects. Also the top floor and the basement can be renovated to add more space. IF you have an elevator you can open up the floor above dawns office and open the whole basement up for use.
Bottom line a "justice center" is a drain that NC cannot afford no matter how "handy" or nice it would be. I am sure there are grants and ways to renovate the present historical court house to bring it into compliance with ADA and still keep it historical in nature. Now with that said, do you expect any of the ones so far on the real list to even consider things like this. No, they will grab the grant money for a justice center with out even consider the cost of up keep on an additional new bigger building. I know Fleming County really regrets the decision to build their justice center. It not only adds to their budget big time but it took many historical buildings out on main street, buildings that should have stayed. Now as a result, FC has a building across from the old court house that they could have used instead of the justice center that they cannot find a buyer for and have a huge up keep bill on it each year. It cannot be torn down or changed as to outside looks being it is on the national register! NC could get into the exact same situation if not careful!
Yes we do need to renovate the old court house but in no way do we need a new one to add to the budget that we have a problem with now. IF we had jobs in NC then things might be better. With no jobs, no revenue source for the NC fiscal court to do the things we need. JOBS should be the first priority of who ever is the judge exec, period.

Jobs, jobs, jobs. Go,to a fiscal court meeting and ask yourself if. You had millions to spend anywhere you could, would you put that investment in NC seeing how unprofessional everything is here? I don't think so. Get some new blood in there. Other counties can afford things because they're better managed.

Exactly my point. BUT that will never happen being they will not appoint/elect new blood due to last NAME!
Name people here in NC 50 or older that have a college degree that would/could be the judge exec, will not put up with the BS from the magistrates, will not put up with the good ole boy BS, and will do what is right for ALL the people of NC. I can name them on one hand and all have a last name that would be laughed at. All have never been into illegal activity, have the wife they first married, and are a lot smarter than many think or will admit. NONE of those would pass the fist hoop to get appointed. The 3 names will be Pryor (who will get it), Allison, and Booth! Bet 1000 to 1 on that.
