veterans benefits cuts

The comment on the video has no relationship to an argument to/for "redistribution of wealth." Mr. Romney characterized half the population as deadbeats and people he had no intention of representing. This is nothing new for the Romney campaign. A few months back he was quoted as saying that he "didn't care about the poor." The most glaring point about this entire issue is that while it is a fact that 47 percent of the population pay no income taxes, to categorize these people not paying income tax as "lazy, victims, or freeloaders" is a huge injustice to many of these citizens.

Who are those people that do not pay income taxes? They are people over 65 who are on Social Security. They are people who are drawing disability from Worker's Compensation. They are the WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Iran, and Iraq veterans who have disability payments coming from the Veterans Administration. They are retired military members who are not taxed on their pensions. They are people who work but their income is below the poverty level. Amazingly, the states with the largest number of people expecting a government check every month are the southern states. Only a small percentage of the 47 percent who do not pay income taxes are people, who in the widest interpretation, could fit the categorization made by Mitt Romney.

Shame on you, Mr. Romney. You never served your country, but now your true feelings are made known about what you really feel about people who have faithfully served their country. You have reaped the best benefits this free society could afford anyone. You've made millions off the backs of the hard working people in this country by taking their savings and investing it into strategies that directly hurt the people who's money you were investing. Most of the money you made, was made by sending jobs to China from the U.S. You pay less in income taxes than poor working people. Have you no shame?

What Mr. Romney spoke he really believes. He really believes retired military, people over 65, and people on disability should be paying income tax because right now they are "freeloaders." In fact, many in the Republican Party applaud this characterization made by Mr. Romney. This is how Mr. Romney is going to fix the budget, by taxing our elderly, our disabled veterans, and our retired military. Nothing more can be derived from the comments of Mr. Romney than he looks at these people as freeloaders upon society who should be paying income tax. Preposterous! MItt Romney is the freeloader. Never mind the 7,000 millionaires in the U.S. who pay no income tax, he believes the burden of the U.S. debt should be put on our elderly, military veterans, and the disabled. People would do themselves a great service to really examine the comments made by candidate Romney
