Committee members question benefits of sharing superintendent

If last Thursday's Finance Committee meeting was any indication, its members have serious reservations about sharing North Middlesex Regional School District Superintendent Maureen Marshall with another school district some 40 miles away.

Quabbin just had it's budget handed back to the school committee to redo That means they will have to make reductions. Maureen is going to have to focus on a school district that has been without a superintendent, has had it's budget turned down, is revising it's district agreement, is facing a major lawsuit from a student who had a sexual relationship with a high school teacher...and she's going to handle all that while giving North Middlesex her undivided attention also? Wow!

And, North Middlesex has the lowest MCAS results in the area! Only Lowell (with all those ethnic gangs) ranked lower in English!!! Are you kidding me?

if she thinks it is only a part time job then fire all the assistants she has . it will then be a full time job.

Perhaps we could also share some of the extra high school admin she hired? We understand there's a $100,000 per year Wal-Mart Greeter up there. And, Dr. M has acknowledged that the $78,000 "athletic director" doesn't teach any classes. Any chance of sharing him as well?

I'd really like to know, will she be paid from both districts? I think this is absurd, and should be voted down as soon as possible. Who's the walmart greeter, can I apply for a job.As far as the AD goes he needs to find some new younger coaches. All of our sports teams have been ripped apart. Some just don't know when to leave and when they do, we replace them with a coach who was let go from another district. Guess it's all in who you know
