I CALLED GREAT LAKES TO GET MY WIFE AND SMALL CHILD FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AT 11 PM ON A SUNDAY, NOT ONLY DID THEY GET THERE IN LESS THAN 25 MINUTES AS PROMISED BUT THEY ALSO DROVE MY FAMILY HOME BEFORE THEY TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP,WE HAVE ONLY ONE VEHICLE. GREAT COMPANY CLEAN,WELL DRESSED DRIVERS AND THE NICEST TRUCKS AROUND.

Beware of doing business with this company! My car was involved in an accident and Great Lakes Towing was called by the police to tow the car to their Va Buren Township impound yard. They charged $95 to tow the car 2 miles! I called and talked to them on two separate occasions to arrange to pick up the car and both times had a verbal agreement on the cost to get the car released. When I arrived at their yard, they jacked the price up $25. They deal in cash transactions only. Fortunately, I had an extra $25 they could rip off.
This company waits until you are most vulnerable and will take advantage of your situation. I recommend avoiding this company if at all possible.

The $95.00 they charge is a set rate for a police impound. all rates are direct orders from the police dept the company tows for. and all police impounds are cash only. all!

How about this scan Great Lakes Towing has going. On Ford Road in Canton there is an Olgas Restaurant. Very small parking lot in front and back. To the left of restaurant there is a large parking lot with signs posted "private parking cars will be towed". Okay, I understand that, but here is the scan they have going on. When you come out of Olgas, your car is gone. Waiting on the other side of the building is a Great Lakes Towing Truck with your vehicle on the bed of the truck. They tell you the "owner" of lot saw the car parked there and wanted it towed off his property. The police are called and they said they cannot do anything for us because of what the sign states. The officer asks the tow truck driver to call his "boss". Tow truck driver states there is no one there at the company (where my vehicle is to be towed). Police officer asks tow truck driver to call his boss and see if he will come in. Yes, this sounds really frickin suspicious to us. Tow truck driver calls his "boss" and they come up with a solution. I will take your car off towing truck for a mere 400 bucks. Yes, I said 400 bucks and cash to boot. There is another car on a tow truck right next to ours. Olgas manager says this has been going on for a while and he is frustrated and tries to warn his customers. He said big fat guy in a green van sits in parking lot and waits for unsuspecting people like myself to leave their cars and go into Olgas and then calls Great Lakes Towing. Imagine my surprise when I googled Great Lakes Towing and looked up address and there in front of "owners" house sits a green van. What a scam and what a shame. This is not over and will be taken to court.

Maybe if you werent so damn ignorant and read the signs maybe your car wouldnt be towed. And i myself know the owners of great lakes towing. First of all the owner is not fat. The guy the manager is talking about drives an old green ford van dumbass. second of all, your a joke. You sound like a bitch and I myself woulda doubled the price if I woulda had to deal with you. So read the fuckin sign and obey the law...Thats all good day!

I must defend the fact that Great Lakes Towing does NOT site in the lot waiting on people to go into Olga's. The man who drives the old green van is the owner of the lot and at his request and his request only we are called out to tow people's vehicles because all of Olga's customers park in his lot that he rents to tenants and they have to place to park. If we did not tow the vehicle another towing company would. We are not proud to tow people's cars but there is 7 signs all over the lot warning people of what will happen and never one time has a tow truck sat and wanted for people to leave ther car. It's a lot of trouble and we dread the phone call from the owner of the lot. We have released almost half of the cars we loaded for free cause of the persons story and we feel bad. But it is private property. How would you like people parking in your driveway at home. As for the price private property impounds always cost more. They are way more trouble and take along time.
